Apart from an interesting cricket match, there was a small beach with red sand and not too much more. A few picnic tables... but the amount of mosquitos was incredible, overpowering most with warm blood... Could not stay more than 5 minutes as we were eaten alive... In broad daylight with full sun. Bring mega concentrated DEET spray otherwise may need a blood transfusion combined with calamine body rub post visit.
A bit gravelly near shore and lots of weeds but very shallow and not great for swimming.
On Saturday August 13, 2022 around 7:30pm my family and I were sitting around (our Airbnb stay was in Hazelbrook - very close to this beach) so we googled the closest beach and Tea Hill came up! So we packed some towels and drove the 6 minutes there. To our surprise, the tide was out and so many families were clam digging! We asked around how to dig up clams to other people, and we eventually had it nailed down and had so much fun doing this together. What an experience to happen upon on PEI! It was stunning here! We dug up about 6 clams and cooked them when we got home. This was one of our favourite memories of our trip!
Great beach for kids to explore at low tide, slides and swings and other equipment. Lots of shade and picnics tables. Washrooms with toilets and sinks in the cricket canteen. Great place to spend a day with the family for free. Well maintained and clean.
Spent a lovely afternoon on the beach here at low tide... Which is the best time to enjoy this beach since you can go for endless walks through the shallow puddles in the sea sand/mud. There are all sorts of clams to dig for and so much ocean life to entertain yourself with.
This beach is typically unguarded so it's best to keep a close watch on young ones even with the shallow water.
The views are terrific and I will definitely be back again and again
