We had an amazing time. Our guide was quick to spot and point out whales. We saw Humpbacks, Minke, Porpoises and gray seals. We couldn’t believe how many we got to see and we couldn’t be happier. We don’t speak French, although we would love to learn, but our guide made sure to share all the information in French first and then in English too. Wish I had a better camera, because pictures don’t do what we saw justice. We were in awe.
The prices, the experience, the sightings, the variety of whales, everything was better than Hawaii.
We did a Whale watching cruise in Hawaii end of April and were able to see three hunpback whales from quite a distance.
This tour in Quebec was quicker, more to the point, and had sightings of Beluga, Humpback and one other small kind. Lion seals were an added extra.
This was also comparatively cheaper than Hawaii.
Ask for group pricing and additional discounts, they were very welcoming.
Great cruise with sightings of wildlife even though cloudy and cool with little sun
A really nice experience.
We could not reserve a speedboat and this turned out to be a much better option. It is still quite a small boat, not too crowded and you are covered from rain and the cold wind of the Fjord when the boat moves fast but don’t lose any of the spectacular whale watching experience because we opened the windows when we approached the whales.
Particularly recommendable if traveling with children.
On top, it is not as expensive as other options going out from Tadoussac and the staff is welcoming and experienced. They are enthusiastic and share very interesting information.
And the whales… it is about being lucky but they will really try that you come back with amazing pictures and experience.
We booked online in advance for a 430 tour, we arrived early enough to take another tour, but luckily we were advised to keep our original booking. It's a small gift shop shack where you should go to the washroom, then get a warm jacket. With your ticket you can catch their bus to go to the next shack and pick up the rest of the boaters. Then bus to the dock, where you walk down many stairs and ramps to get to a boat. They make sure everyone who bought passageway is on the boat. We ended up leaving late because of this, but it did not impact the whale watching at all.
The captain (Bernie) made sure we had the best views of whales, and Nat was there to answer all of our questions. Very lovely tour, and I liked the boat, the windows open to take beautiful pictures.
