“I am proud to be part of a small community where this level of quality hospital care is available. We have always traveled to Pembroke Hospital because it is closer, but we have become so dissatisfied with the care there that we finally stayed on the Quebec side and took my mom to Shawville. I wish we had done this a few years sooner. There is no comparison. Shawville Hospital was filled with pleasant and helpful staff who made me feel like my loved one was a priority. The care my mother received in the first few hours accomplished more than Pembroke could manage over a few days. In less than 12 hours she had a CT and a full diagnosis and treatment plan provided. The staff were all bilingual and I am so grateful for this as I am not fluent in French and I was so worried there would be communication issues. I am so impressed with this hospital and the staff. Their expertise and compassion has eased the stress of everyone involved, including the patient.”
