Clean campground, showers and facilities and a very nice site but what really made the difference was the hospitality and service from Bernice and a young fellow (whose name I didn't get) and their kind attentions helping us route planning and sharing stories. Nice place!”

“Very accessable park has lots to offer. My wife and I walked a couple of the trails before taking in supper at the cafe. At first I was put off by the "well-used" condition of the paper menus; but when the food came, I was so excited that I forgot to take a photo! It was delicious, and not hard to recommend. The trails can be hiked, biked, or skied in the winter. I look forward to going back to try some of the other trails, and maybe have lunch at one of their picnic tables.”

Southern Prairie Railway

Address: 401 Railway Ave, Ogema, SK S0C 1Y0, Canada

Point of interest Establishment Tourist attraction

“Fantastic experience. A few years back I did a similar train excursion in Stettler, Alberta, and was shocked to come across something similar to that in Saskatchewan. This is a much better value for $50/person, that gets you the train ride AND the museum grounds admission. Plan a minimum 3 hours for the museum, and also take advantage of the golf cart they offer for those who can’t handle the tons of walking. We did the museum first, then the train ride at 1:30pm. We got to the train early (around 1:00) and were one of the first to board. Go to the outdoor seating, the breeze and views is fantastic. The tour guides were great, super informative. They also served alcohol, I’m pretty sure that was cash only. We had supper at the hotel restaurant on the corner of Main Street, it was great. The pizzeria sounded good too, we will have to try that out next time. Worth the drive, affordable weekend activity. Would definitely come back.”

There are also so many trail hikes marked out you have plenty of options. Sand dunes that you can stroll down for hours. Sit down at the beach at sunset and the views are incredible!”
