Maya's Legacy Whale Watching

Had an amazing time with Jeff, Sara and Aaron. We picked Maya's Legacy because we knew the boat could get us out to see whales wherever they might be around the islands, in the end they only needed to get to full speed for a few minutes before we came across 18 orcas, an unbelievable sight. The trip was really informative and we managed to grab a few minutes to see eagles fighting over a carcass which was an intermission to remember before heading back to see the whales again. Although we were lucky and didn't need to travel far in the boat it was the ideal vessel for whale watching with a comfortable warm cabin that opened up fully as well as the rear and forward viewing areas. We were two of something like twelve guests and three guides which makes for a really intimate and unique experience. Definitely recommended!

The best whale watching tour I have ever been on. The captain Jeff, and naturalist April were so knowledgeable and we had an amazing time watching the T123’s a couple of weeks ago. The boat was so comfortable and had prime viewing positions for everybody onboard. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting a small group whale watching and learning experience with some great people. Thank you!

I would HIGHLY recommend this company for tours! This is my second trip to the islands and I have been out with 3 other whale watching company and I was blown away by this boat and crew! The boat is comfortable yet fast and is open enough so everyone can have an amazing view, but also has an enclosure to shelter you from the elements if you so choose. It is extremely accommodating as well. We had passengers who were elderly and 11 month old baby and everything in between and everyone had a blast! The crew are all so passionate and knowledgeable about the wild life and islands which makes it so much more fun! I had a chance to meet Rachel ,one of the owners, and she is by far one of the nicest and genuine people I have ever met. We had the amazing opportunity to see orcas from the J pod! Which actually brought tears to my eyes! We also saw tons of birds, sea lions, seals, porpoises, and more! Wild life and mother nature are never a guarantee but this crew will guarantee you one hell of an experience!

As a local I always choose Maya's Legacy. The staff and boats are amazing. I went for my first trip of the season a few days ago. We saw so much. Jeff, Daven and April were all fantastic. We were the only Friday Harbor boat to see J-pod. The other sights were equally entertaining- feral goats, eagles, California sea lion, harbor seals, and the stellar sea lions who put on a once in a lifetime show! Everyone involved with this company goes above and beyond! Ps. very respectful of the orcas and other wildlife!

My 14 year old son and I had an amazing time on Maya's boat tour. The boat itself was super clean, comfortable and so much fun to ride on. Captain Alan and April were fantastic guides. Both were friendly, engaging and kept us well informed. We definitely felt safe and trusted that these folks knew exactly what they were doing. I loved being surprised with April's follow up email highlighting our experience and sharing some photos. We would definitely do this again with Maya's Legacy.
