Western Prince Whale Watching

the crew contacted us 1 hour before departure to let us know a pod of whales have been spotted and asked if there any way we can leave about 1/2 hour early. We did and made the wonderful hour plus journey to where the pod of killer whales was located and stayed with them for more than an hour. After a very satisfying experience we were on our way home when a radio call came in that more whales were sited and we detoured to find more whales. The crew was delightful the boat was excellent and I highly recommended in every way.

July 2018, my wife, brother-in-law, niece and I were surprised by the number of whales we saw during our excursion. The captain did a wonderful job of tracking and following the whales while respecting their safety and space. A couple of marine life experts were very knowledgeable and informative. On our last day on the island (the day after our whale watching experience) Western Prince held our luggage during the time between our lodging checkout and the next ferry.

Great experience on the water with Captain Ivan and the crew. Very professional about boat and water safety as we launched from Friday Harbour. After that, it was fantastic day on the water. The boat is comfortable and there are great views everywhere! The crew did a nice job talking to us about the islands, different whales they've seen, etc. Great storytellers! Yes! most importantly we DID see a small pod; a mom & her two little ones fishing in the current. It was amazing to see boats large and small all make space for the family of 3. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Great tour! The tour guides were friendly and informative. Bathroom available on board and snacks available for purchase. We brought our own lunch and enjoyed it on board learning about the whales and wildlife. Our crew extended our tour slightly to allow for more whale watching time and even stopped by some other wildlife to point out and teach us about. I highly recommend this tour!

Great time on the water! The staff were all very friendly from booking through the boat trip itself. We were able to see a pod of whales and were even lucky enough to see a baby whale among them. The staff did a great job updating us on where we were going and what signs they look out for to track the location of the whales. There was plenty of space on the boat and once we caught up with the whales we had plenty of time to view and get pictures. Very fun and unique experience.
