This is a yearly campground. - you keep the site for a whole year. The sites are HUGE. There is a wait list for a site.
Under 1 hour drive from Waterton Lakes National Park, but only 2km from Glenwood (the village has some decent restaurants and a grocery store, and more.)
The campground isn't old enough to have a lot of mature trees but it is well laid out and there is a nice river to cool off in on those long hot summer days. 30amp service and some sites have water for grass etc (not potable I was told).
Love it here. It's been our little getaway spot for several years now. It's a seasonal site campground so most campers are repeat clients and really take pride in keeping their spots attractive. Most of the unserviced sites are quite large compared to other campgrounds in the area while the electric/water are much smaller. Owners Jordan and Marie have always been easy to work with in accommodating any requests. There is normally a waiting list to get a site so if you're considering Riverwood you might want to get your name in early.
Had a blast! Went rafting down the river with friends, weather and other campers were great.
I love this campground. If you want to camp somewhere you feel at home, everyone is friendly and you can let loose this is the place for you. Very open spaces, super friendly people. Amazing decks that people have bought that also make it so homey. The only one downside is that the campground is very close to a river, which a few years ago flooded the whole campground. So during the off season you take your trailers to a top of a hill for flooding. But other than that, its a great place to camp for the summer.
Peaceful place. The weather didn't cooperate on the Saturday of our visit, but the rest of it was amazing! Love the little Creek/river and we saw a deer shoot past it while we played in the water! We even found some great minerals and crystals on the beach!
