“A great visit on a rainy day, with plenty of local artifacts. I easy spent two hours and wish I'd had more time to really check everything out. Admission ($5) is fantastic, considering the amount of displays there are.”

“Beautiful lake! The walk around the lake (Amerada) is 10km and pretty flat which was nice. Very quiet trail on a Monday afternoon.”

“Such a beautiful and educational spot! We especially enjoyed watching the blacksmith work. Our boys were engaged and equally as delighted when they received their very own freshly forged nail from the blacksmith. We also took in a live beading demonstration by a Parks Canada staff member. So interesting! Our boys received an activity booklet to fill out from the friendly staff at the visitor centre. Once we finished meandering around the site, they brought their completed booklets back to the visitor center and were gifted a souvenir and completion certificate. We had two very happy little kids!”

“I have just come home from the Wellness and Horsemanship weekend yesterday and it is difficult to describe how amazing it was. This place is magical; Diane, Bear and the herd have an amazing amount of wisdom to share. Not having cell reception, electricity or running water in the cabins offers the ultimate break from your everyday life, allowing you to return to yourself and listen inside. The ways Diane teaches you to connect with the horses and let their energy and the messages and teachings they have for us get through is life changing.”
