Tombstone Backcountry Campground

Address: Bragg Creek, AB T0L 0K0, Canada

Campground Lodging Park

“Besides the hike up to elbow lake, the hike to the tombstone lake campground is flat and easy with great views of the valley. The campground is nice itself, it has gravel plots for tents, however the gravel is quite uncomfortable and it would probably be better with just grass.”

Sibbald Lake Provincial Campground

Address: 7116 AB-68, Bragg Creek, AB T0L 0K0, Canada

Campground Lodging Park

“Site was great and well maintained beware that the county does the poorest job of maintaining the gravel road to it. It will beat the hell out of your ball joints. Love the site, won't return because of the road conditions to it.”

Little Elbow Campground

Address: AB-66, Bragg Creek, AB T0L 0K0, Canada

Campground Lodging Park

“The camp sites are large, full of trees thus lots of privacy. Even busy you feel alone and it is quiet. I was there during the labor long weekend and though full I felt I had my own privacy. Lots to do around here, excellent spot for hikers. The river is accessible and the mountains are spectacular. I discovered a little gem, next time I'll come here instead of Kananaskis. Highly recommend.”

Sulphur Springs Trail

Address: Sulphur Springs Trail, Bragg Creek, AB T0L 0K0, Canada

Park

“This is a mostly forested trail accessed from Station Flats. It's popular with mountain bikers so be aware of them coming up behind you. On my visit in June the trail was mostly dry with just a couple of muddy spots. The wildflowers were lovely. Combined with the Elbow Valley trail it's a nice 12Km loop.”

McLean Creek Campers' Centre

Address: 3 McLean Creek Trail, Bragg Creek, AB T0L 0K0, Canada

Store

“Always seem to have exactly what you need, even if it’s a kinda odd item for making “trail side” repairs. They also have showers and washrooms which are usually clean when I’ve used them. The Amphitheater usually has some very entertaining and educational shows on the weekends, bring bug spray! Employees are always happy and helpful. Keep an eye out for the wild horses that roam the campsites but please remember that they are “wild”, so stay a safe distance away. Would be nice if non off-roaders didn’t take sites in the off-road area.”

Ware Creek Provincial Recreation Area

Address: 20415 Range Rd 52A, Bragg Creek, AB T0L 0K0, Canada

Park

“Essentially abandoned. The outhouse is permanently closed, the road in has seen better days, the gravel parking lot is starting to be reclaimed by grass and bushes, etc. It is, however, still accessible for most vehicles except for ones with ~3" or lower ground clearance. This makes it a good spot to escape from the crowds, and the semi-abandoned state gives it a cool character.”

“Great place for getting outside. For all sorts of outdoor activities. Not that popular, so less people to meet there, when you want to be alone. Access only by gravel road. Not that photogenic. If you like photography try something more extraordinary...”
