“Besides the hike up to elbow lake, the hike to the tombstone lake campground is flat and easy with great views of the valley. The campground is nice itself, it has gravel plots for tents, however the gravel is quite uncomfortable and it would probably be better with just grass.”

“Site was great and well maintained beware that the county does the poorest job of maintaining the gravel road to it. It will beat the hell out of your ball joints. Love the site, won't return because of the road conditions to it.”

“The camp sites are large, full of trees thus lots of privacy. Even busy you feel alone and it is quiet. I was there during the labor long weekend and though full I felt I had my own privacy. Lots to do around here, excellent spot for hikers. The river is accessible and the mountains are spectacular. I discovered a little gem, next time I'll come here instead of Kananaskis. Highly recommend.”

“Resting spot before a few good MTB downhills”

“This is a mostly forested trail accessed from Station Flats. It's popular with mountain bikers so be aware of them coming up behind you. On my visit in June the trail was mostly dry with just a couple of muddy spots. The wildflowers were lovely. Combined with the Elbow Valley trail it's a nice 12Km loop.”

“This is a nice little casual 1.5 - 2 hour hike. A good one to have with friends who aren't interested in going too hard but to increase your heart rate enough to burn some calories and work the lungs and legs a bit. Recommend!”

“This is a beautiful place to have a picnic. Right by the river. Plenty of picnic tables. There are washroom facility and plenty of parking. This place does get busy on weekends. Sometimes extremely busy.”

“Very nice and convenient campground. They don't have flush toilets near sites though, for that you'll have to go to the store they have nearby. Other than that, the campground is right by a very nice fishing pond.”

“Peaceful little day use area with a stocked fish pond and fire pits. Good for a family outing.”

“Always seem to have exactly what you need, even if it’s a kinda odd item for making “trail side” repairs. They also have showers and washrooms which are usually clean when I’ve used them. The Amphitheater usually has some very entertaining and educational shows on the weekends, bring bug spray! Employees are always happy and helpful. Keep an eye out for the wild horses that roam the campsites but please remember that they are “wild”, so stay a safe distance away. Would be nice if non off-roaders didn’t take sites in the off-road area.”

“My wife and I think this is a great place to camp. It's always clean and we feel safe camping out there. There's pull through sites and walk in renting sites with proper food storage.”

“Amazing place”

“Essentially abandoned. The outhouse is permanently closed, the road in has seen better days, the gravel parking lot is starting to be reclaimed by grass and bushes, etc. It is, however, still accessible for most vehicles except for ones with ~3" or lower ground clearance. This makes it a good spot to escape from the crowds, and the semi-abandoned state gives it a cool character.”

“A nice out of the way place for camping albeit somewhat rustic.”

“It's a nice, remote campground. There's lots of ATV users, so it's not perfectly quiet. If you're prepared for that then you can have a great time.”

“Very nice campground, we were in the group section and really enjoyed the stay”

“Great place for getting outside. For all sorts of outdoor activities. Not that popular, so less people to meet there, when you want to be alone. Access only by gravel road. Not that photogenic. If you like photography try something more extraordinary...”
