Stunning hike. Sentinel Pass, expecially in fall offers up such amazing larching. It's a medium challenging route and takes just over a half day. It's a definite top choice hike in the Banff area. Just note that you need to shuttle to Lake Moraine as they don't have general public parking anymore.

Super fun hiking lol the way to the Sentinel Pass. Although we could not finish the very last and the most difficult part to reach the pass, the rest of the trail was super fun also. The lerch valley was in full fall colors and it was crowded. This is one must do hike in the Lake Moraine area in the Fall. Lots of places to stop and take photographs. Beautiful hike and vista all around.
A very beautifil hike with lots of variation: Moraine lake of course, the climbing up with from time to time view on the lake, then arriving on a plateau through larch trees, slowly climbing up to Minnestimma Lake, and then up more steeply to Sentinel Pass, with an incredible sight on 2 valleys. 12 km in total, an elevation gain of 725 meters and about 5 hours in splendid nature.
The best and most rewarding hike we've done. The start and end are long and steep, so not an easy starter. You're rewarded with the larch Valley, surrounded by snowcapped mountains, lakes and pines. The end can be slippy when cold and icy, so bring trekking poles.
Really hard but really cool trail. If you've got the time you should definitely do this trail. Note: a quarter of my time going up was spent past the two lakes just going up the final part, which is tough.
