Glen Lake Park

Address: 3076 Shoreview Dr, Victoria, BC V9B 4S8, Canada

Park

“Cute little park with a playground and water play area. I noticed a lot of families with small children that enjoyed dipping their toes in the water as well as the older boys with nets catching some little black bait fish. The park is very clean has a dog area and is very well-kept. There are restrooms in the park and about 8-10 parking spaces- so I can imagine it gets quite packed on the weekends.”

Ida Anne Lake

Address: 724 Treanor Ave, Victoria, BC V9B 5V5, Canada

Park

“Good size...ok parking ..more field area around lake would be nice. Not much shore space. Lake had multiple fountains for circulation...stocked with some fish”

Goldstream Falls, Goldstream Provincial Park

Address: 48°27'45. 123°34'20., 3"N BC-5, Kamloops, BC V0R, Canada

Park

“Goldstream Provincial Park has an abundance of beautiful, well maintained hiking trails. A very nice, relatively short hike is the trail that runs along the Goldstream River from the gatehouse up to Goldstream falls. A word of warning, there is a fairly steep climb as you get closer to the falls, and there is a long staircase down to the waterfall itself. The stairway has recently been upgraded with synthetic wood steps and metal landings...very solid and very safe. The waterfall is definitely more spectacular during the winter and spring months when the water levels are high.”

Mt Wells Park

Address: Humpback Rd, Victoria, BC V9B 6B1, Canada

Park

“Really great place for a hike. Blogs say this is a difficult hike, however if you are in good shape it’s pretty easy. It’s about 30 min to the top. Dog friendly. There are a few places where it is a little challenging and could be scary if you were elderly or very young. I wouldn’t suggest an old dog go on this hike or someone faint of heart or needs assistance. Views are wonderful once you get to the top. You can see downtown and the Olympic Mountains on a clear day! Stick to the trails. I hear of people slipping and falling and getting hurt. Have fun!”

Hidden Falls In Goldstream Park

Address: Langford, BC V0R, Canada

Park

“This is a short little hike from either of the nearby parking lots. When you are facing the trailhead of Goldmine trial, go towards the parking lot to the left. Before you get to the parking lot, there is a clearing to the right, look across the clearing and you will see the trail that heads to the left. Follow the trail about 5 minutes to find this lovely little hidden waterfall.”

Sooke Hills Wilderness Regional Park

Address: 3059 Humpback Rd, Victoria, BC V9B 5Y6, Canada

Park

“A nice easy starter hike for my son. Some 700ft elevation after the trestle which gets the blood pumping. Trail itself is gravel and well maintained which means you can cover the distance fairly quickly. Definitely a good trail for bikes and casual walkers!”

Goldmine Trail Head

Address: Langford, BC V0R, Canada

Park

“Very quiet little hike through beautiful forests. Some Waterfalls on the way, and an opportunity to go up to the Goldstream trestle. The trail seems well kept and not muddy, even in the rain. Park at one of the two locations on the south side of the highway to access the trail head. This is a hike good for any time of the year, and is not to difficult, but it does have some up hills in the beginning. The mine itself has a little placard about it, and you can go in. It is pretty wet in the winter though. If you like Bush wacking, you can find Miner's Spring falls, there is also Biden falls, that trail is pretty clear, but a little hidden. Facing the trailhead, go left, back a cross a clearing before you hit the parking lot, there is a trail to Hidden falls.”

Niagara Falls

Address: Langford, BC V0R, Canada

Park

“One of my favourite travels! So very majestic. I went back 3 times on my short holiday, I really enjoyed it all. The butterfly conservatory was my absolute favourite!”

Miner's Spring Falls

Address: Langford, BC V0R, Canada

Park

“Very quiet little hike through beautiful forests. Also with opportunity to go up to the Goldstream trestle. The trail seems well kept and not muddy, even in the rain. Park at one of the two locations on the south side of the highway to access the trail head. This is a hike good for any time of the year, and is not to difficult, but it does have some up hills in the beginning. The hike off the main Goldmine trail to get down to Miner's spring falls is overgrown and takes some bush wacking to actually get to. The creek does flow over the main trail with some smaller falls in vein, if the larger ones are to hard to get to.”

Mount Finlayson Trailhead

“This hiking area is one of the best around victoria for access. The parking is good, and the trail is well marked out. It is a B3 hike (caloric value, followed by YDS technical difficulty). The views on the way up and at the top are great. It does get a bit slippery when wet. The right foot wear is very important. It's about 35 min to an hour sign to sign depending on your speed and ability.”
