I had the cod pie (which was one of the best fish dishes I'd had), saurkraut crackers, in-house smoked salmon. “We had dinner at Porto Osteria this evening and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. The pastas are homemade and the sauces very flavourful. “Thanks to the recommendation of a nice local couple we met, we found our way out to try the crab cakes. We were not disappointed. Friendly service, great food, and a beautifully quiet atmosphere in a working marina makes this locals place a great find for the tourist who wants a taste of the lesser seen side of Vancouver Island. “The Deep Cove Chalet is one of the finest restaurants on Vancouver Island. Pierre is a magnificent chef and the service is always excellent. The sea views from the Chalet are also the best views in the area. This is by far my favourite place to eat. Love the dog at the door. He is always extremely well mannered and he is a beauty.”

The place has a nice atmosphere and the artwork is painted by one of the owners. If you are going for something where you are going to get the authentic food and a down to earth vibe of the Chinese culture then I recommend.”

“Came in there with a large group for lunch and the staff was very accommodating. The atmosphere is perfect for the location and screams aviation. The food is well priced and delicious. Would highly recommend their spitfire burger! For myself I went with a beef dip, and it is possibly one of the best beef dips I have had in over a year, get it with the works and a beer, you will not be disappointed. With an apron outside don't feel you need to drive, you can always fly your plane in as well.”

“My family and I wanted to spend a lovely Family Day lunch together but my Mum and I both have dietary restrictions. I am pescatarian and my mum is a strict vegetarian and gluten free. My brother and Dad were fine going anywhere and we wanted to go somewhere in Sidney. We drove up and right away there was this warm and lovely feeling that wafted from the restaurant. We walked in and immediately the smells of food made our mouths water. They had menus to look at while we were waiting to be seated and their customer service was great. We got seated in this beautiful outside, greenhouse space. There was so much space and a glass wall that we could see through into the restaurant and kitchen. This lovely waitress got us iced lemon waters and listened to my mum's questions. I ordered the S.A.L.T. sandwich (salmon, avocado, lettuce, tomato), my mum ordered a salad and gluten free cornbread English muffin, and my brother and dad shared two oven made pizza's. My sandwich was DELICIOUS and my mum loved her salad and English muffin. The pizza oven stopped working so they were late but the waitress apologised and gave us two free coffees and a discount. I love it there and the customer service is AMAZING.”
