(September 18, 2018, 1:09 pm)The tea room was fantastic the first few years it was open. Now it has become much more expensive and the menu even as of last year was much better. I still go and still enjoy it but I miss the times when it was not touristy and reasonably priced. I'd still recommend it but mostly now because of the grounds. I must admit I admire the volunteers who help there and the Tuesday morning plant sale.

(July 27, 2018, 6:00 pm)I was a little surprised when we went for tea at Cary news as I was expecting more of a high tea kind of menu. However the food that was prepared for us was beyond expectations.
I was very impressed by the home brewed ice tea. We also had their desert of the day and the only issue was it wasn't really for sharing. This is because it was so good I didn't want to share.
The volunteers we're super friendly and extremely helpful. I will definitely be going back and bringing friends.

I absolutely love going to Victoria's Butchart Gardens, but if you don't have a car (it's 20km from the city) and think the admission is a wee bit pricey, especially for a family, there is a great alternative within the city and it's free…. the Government House Gardens.
