“My late father designed and built the 888 Wing, many years ago now. It has been very well kept, it's quiet and comfortable. They have a large selection of beers on tap and in cans & bottles. There's large windows and a big patio overlooking the runways.”

“Ordered the pork fried rice. Good food at good prices. The lady at the front is always so happy. I really like her. Will be back for more!”

“The staff here seems to change fairly often but....they seem to find the best staff consistently ! No chips, lottery tickets, pop but great prices on your average beers wine and a limited selection of hard bar. Again, great staff”

“I called Rachel and requested bridal makeup last minute; she was really amazing; she responded quickly and welcomed me right away. Her makeup made me to feel beautiful throghout the day! She is also so talented and have background of doing makeup for people with different ethnicity and background and really respect and embrace the natural skin beauty of every individual. I asked her to do makeup for my mom and my fiances's mom. Both mothers looked so beautifu as they requested for after makeup is done. My mother even joked to me and said she will not take off her makeup tonight! I also enjoyed her skin products. Thank you so much, Rachel. I will recommend you to everyone I know !”

“One of the best places in the Comox Valley we had our child in for the before and after school care and we have no complaints about Kinnikinnik. Stacey has always been reliable, friendly and communicated well with us about our child's care. Their summer camp programs are always varied and they have lots of fun activities that keep the kids entertained.”

“Lovely place! Lunch, a veggie sandwich with avocado, tomato, cheese, cucumber on homemade toast, latte and rescue cookie (don't all, just have one) was a real "rib sticker". Delicious, great owners and fellow customers including big old bulldog.”

“We've had many friends in the Military over the years, and learned that some of these facilities are accessible to the general public as well. I don't know the rules, but we've legitimately used the pool several times during the Summer months when they tend to close the Aquatic Centre nearer to us for its yearly maintenance. Never used their Fitness Centre yet, although the drop-in is essentially a day-pass to use any of the facilities inside - did make use of the Sauna as well. There's a nice Chip Trail around the facilities that is totally open for public use, starting next to the Athletics Track - worth doing... see if you can complete the whole circuit without losing your way 😉 PS: Not sure if I'm allowed to post pics though...”

“There are several ladies that have worked at mfrc, for a long time. Who are the most supportive women I have know! They are fun and relatable, also will get serious and right down to business for what ever you need as a military spouse or as member of the community in general. They genuinely care here. It is a safe place. I don't even live there anymore and they have continued to support me. Can't say enough good things.❤️”

“My experience was wonderful. Im new to Lazo and I wasn't sure where to go for a hair colour and style. Her services are within a decent range, she's warm and inviting. She also has talent and gives suggestions on when my next cut should be. I was very impressed and at ease especially when I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I'll be returning for that cut and style.”

“Don't be fooled. Tim's is gone. Now it's only the Canex cashiers making coffee that you self-serve. If I'm pouring my own coffee, why does it not come at a discount? My service was great though; I gave myself a tip.”

“Easily the best service ever. Janet had literally helped me save someone's Christmas. She was more than helpful. I had purchased a few big products and she made everything very friendly and easy and saved some items for me last minute. I cannot thank her enough as well as Jane another staff member on duty. Absolutely will never forget these two wonderful people and manager to bring some fun to a group home for Christmas. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas”

“Incredible museum! So many well-preserved artefacts and interesting displays, and lots of info about the RCAF as well as more personal stories about individual service members/squadrons over the last 100+ years. Definitely worth a visit if you have any interest in the history of the RCAF or Canada's involvement in WWII and beyond. The entrance fee is a pay-what-you-can donation to the museum itself. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a small gift shop with items for adults as well as children. Overall a great spot to spend an hour or so!”

“August 8th, 2018 Y2K returns home after 5000 mile solo flight by D. Hadfield. A very nice surprise and to honour W/C (Ret'd) James "Stocky" "Eddie" Edwards at the Y2K gala Banquet. We thank you for your service Sir! Update: May 2021, while visiting Air Force museum and a photo shoot on the gate guardian CF101, I just happened to catch the Snowbird's 9 man formation. Unfortunately a little out of focus with my 360 camera.”

“We had our daughter's wedding at the Glacier Greens Golf course. Food catered by Red's. Location is quiet. Scenery beautiful. Food tasted great. We were able to get dietary options for our wedding guests with allergies. Drinks were a great price. Friendly staff. Venue layout is nice. We were able to use the golf carts for the wedding party and parents while we were getting photos done by the photographer. Which was a lot of fun. Unfortunately the toilet flooded into foyer. There were golfers thinking it was okay to sit in the setup wedding area to have drinks and were not asked to leave. Even when guests were arriving they just sat there - so classy. We were told the venue was closed for our wedding. Food was served without notice. Appies were put in the dining area when no one was there. If we had known a bit ahead of time we could have announced it to our guests. By the time guests arrived the appies were cold. Dinner was put out when the bride and groom were still out having their photos done by their photographer. Again if we were told that dinner was coming out soon. We would have informed the kitchen that the bride and groom were delayed and why. Also not enough wine glasses for all the guests. We could have rented enough if we had known. Overall our daughter's wedding was wonderful. Just some bumps along the way. So more flexibility and communication would have helped.”
