A wonderful park to wander throughout the year as it offers an easy walk thru the trails and a different vista with the changing seasons. The bright green of spring and the rapids in the river with the snow melt. Summer brings playground fun and wading in the river. In the fall, the river is filled with spawning salmon to watch as they splash their way home. Though it rarely snows in the valley, the park is a winter wonderland. Enjoy a picnic and watch the kids play.
Calming and cool place to relax and dip your toes in the river. Also, plenty of trails to hike through the beautiful Canadian wilderness.
An incredible park right in the heart of Courtenay by the river and a beautiful swimming spot. In the fall this is a great place to watch the salmon run and in the summer there's the tubers floating on the river and sometimes hundreds of swimmers. The washrooms aren't pretty but they're serviceable. Dogs are welcome here but they need to be on a leash.
Nice small, short, trail along the river. Easily accessible to all ages and abilities. Might see kayakers float by, or large fish swimming up river. Popular spot to swim, tube the river, play with dogs, and hangout in the summer. There's a small playground with swings, slides, and standard park equipment.
The only thing it lacks is a standout scenic point. Closest marks are the large boulder across the river that many people jump off in the summer (locally known as big chief), or the bend across from the park where the small bridge crosses over. This is where dozens, and sometimes hundreds, of fish can be found if you choose to snorkel here.
Nice park that has a river where you can fish for salmon depending on the time of the year. The paths where nice with some wooden bridges and a nice walk through the forest. The River was nice to see and listen too. There were people fishing along the river while I walked around. The place was nice and peaceful. There was a person in an electric scooter going around too so some parts where easy to get to and move around.
