Walk-In Clinic at Walmart Courtenay by Jack Nathan Health

I have gone to this clinic for years since they were at their prior location. They seemed to have more physicians working a few years ago and I could sometimes sneak in after work virtually without any wait at all. I can say that the physicians and support staff have all been consistently great throughout the years. Unfortunately due to doctor and staff shortage, CoVid etc. they have had to cut back their hours and yes you sometimes have to line up very early in the morning to see a physician that day. Once you check in you can leave and they will call you to come back when your appointment is getting close. I was recently at the clinic on a Sunday morning. I waited briefly to check in, did a bit of shopping while waiting for the call back, saw a physician, got a prescription, had it filled and was home again 2 1/2 hours after I left. Fantastic. I appreciate that many people are often in distress when they go to the doctors so their experience may be affected but I think this is great clinic.

The staff are very nice here, but it is next to impossible to speak to anyone on the phone (I've been trying for days). The clinic obviously does not have enough staff to manage the requirements, which is too bad considering that this is currently the only walk-in clinic in the Comox Valley.

I worked here before and during covid! This was a tough place to be during covid! Still now people cant get that these Drs can only see soo many people in a day. Yes the line up is horrendous. But that isnt the walk-ins fault! Please quit yelling at these nice ladies at the desk! Or they may quit and you will have NO ONE to help!
