“Very great place to go too and Tom was great to visit with. Camping there was peaceful and quiet. Nice gravel road up 12km and your at the most beautiful secluded camp ground. Great play ground for kids and also cabins there to rent if you don't have a trailer to pull up there.”

“Elizabeth Lake Lodge is an absolute gem. It's on the edge of town, but steps away from a lovely bird sanctuary you can walk through. The hotel does the standard things very well--the beds are super comfy, the pillows are some of the best I've ever used, the rooms are well-appointed and so clean (I rarely give my children baths in hotels, but don't fear the tubs at ELL!). It's the little details where ELL rises above: specialty soap, quality dishware, in-room orchid, ear plugs for those who may be sensitive to the train nearby, and heated floors in the bathroom. I was also impressed that they set up the playpen for us with a sheet and a lovely quilt on top. The majority of hotels would just throw a pack and play in the room without sheets and you'd have to set it up yourself. The service is beyond expectations. They are so friendly and accommodating. Play a round of mini golf too. It's a challenging course, but so much fun. I could go on forever how wonderful Elizabeth Lake Lodge is, but you should just go and experience it yourself. We will always come back!”

“It was nice. Small, older hotel, but was clean. We had a suite, which was a additional bed in the front, + bedroom, rather than a sitting area, but that suited us fine since we were a group of 3 just there for the night. Location is good, but the front parking lot, which you are inclined to turn into to go to the office is very tight with no other exit. I have an oversized truck and had to back out which caused a drama with other vehicles trying to pull in. If you drive anything other than a small car, pull around back for more parking.”

“The couple who runs this place were more than sweet and accommodating for us. Letting us put in laundry a bit late, moved their car so we could park right by our room, and gave us some cold waters for the road when we checked out. So so kind and lovely! Rooms were also clean. Would recommend!”

“Clean, quiet, reasonably priced, friendly staff. Not sure why there have been low reviews, but I think this motel had a management change a little while ago and things have improved a lot.”

“We now have multiple dealings with different animals with Steeples, and every time its been a great experience. Most recently one of our horses got injured, and they have been there via text and call, every step of the way - with suggestions and solid advice, until our appointment. They came to Creston on our scheduled apt for a very reasonable farm visit, and absolutely took the best care of the 3 horses. After our apt, the follow up was fantastic, making sure all was ok. Very impressed with the care and honest pricing - no hidden or surprise costs.”

“A true treasure! Simple but friendly, quiet, private rooms for $29 with tax (if you're an HI member), free WiFi, and access to a kitchen and fridge just outside your door. Amazing deal! There's free parking; it would be an awkward place to stay if you don't have a car.”

“Quiet, clean, inexpensive laundry on site, working wifi, friendly and helpful hosts/owners, and close to Cranbrook Community Forest with great bike trails. What's not to like.”

“Great hotel and golf course at the foot of the Rockies. In terms of value for money this place is as good as we've found anywhere. Hotel rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, pool (albeit small) is in the sun from early morning and Golf course (19th hole) food and drinks are reasonably priced (for 2023!). The deal at the golf course for families (especially under the stay and play program might be the best deal in BC. Juniors play for free with a paying adult after 3pm. Golf course is a nice mix of needing well placed tee shots on short par 4s and wide open fairways for the longer holes where you can hit big. 4 sets of tees and mixed tee scorecards allow for numerous golf levels to play.”

“It’s like a family here at the campground. The managers (Bill and Cheryl) are the nicest people and have gone above and beyond on numerous occasions to help people out. They even paid for and gave out ice cream treats from Dairy Queen to the whole campground on a few super hot days (super awesome)! They have held BBQs here for everyone which is also a super nice thing to do. The campground is well maintained and the washrooms / laundry facility are always clean. I’ve been here over a year and haven’t had any issues with the power and the internet is really good also. The garbage bins are emptied regularly and the lawn is always cut and cared for. Lots of pride and hard work put into this campground and it shows!”

“We really enjoy this campground. Immaculately kept. Everyone works so hard and was very friendly. My family loved the pool. Great location. I'd pay for a spot next time that doesn't back on to the petting zoo AKA rooster alarm clock at 6am LOL. My only other suggestion would be to plant more trees for shade. Beautiful place and we hope to be back in future.”

“What can i say about this wonderful place besides its a little mountain paradise, with the cutest little welcoming committee in the form of a cat named Ginger. We had an amazing weekend at Bull River Guest Ranch and would highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone looking for a quiet disconnected getaway. Absolutely breathtaking!”
