My wife and I have driven by this restaurant for years talking about how we will stop to eat here on the next trip. Well, we decided to stop in this weekend and it was worth it. The food and service are second to none, with old country interior decor that will impress you.
The atmosphere is really unique inside. It’s very old fashioned with stuffed wild animals on the wall. Reservations are a must. We went there on a Wednesday night and they were turning people away without reservations. We substituted chicken for some of the pork options. The chicken schnitzel was very good. It doesn’t say it on the menu but it’s possible. The French onion soup was good but a little small. The Black Forest cake was very yummy!
An authentic taste of home! Black Forest Steak and Schnitzel Haus transported me back to Germany with every delightful bite. The food was absolutely delicious, reminiscent of the flavors I grew up with. The cozy ambiance and warm hospitality made me feel right at home. From the scrumptious schnitzels to the mouthwatering Bratwurst , every dish was a delightful journey to my roots. A true gem that captured the essence of Germany. Highly recommend to all, especially fellow Germans seeking a taste of home away from home! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🇩🇪🍖🍽️
Black Forest Steak is an imaginative, almost magical restaurant nestled in the outskirts of Invermere. The interior and exterior decoration is reminiscent of an old school fairy tale, with colorful depictions of the zodiac, birds, plants and animals.
Be forewarned, there's a bit of a dress code (no hats, dress somewhat nicely). The tables are set with linen and charming little candles. They've got an extensive wine list, and a traditional menu.
I ordered the rouladen, gently roasted beef wrapped around pickles, onions, and mustard. It came with spatzle (homemade noodles) red cabbage, and veggies. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. My wife ordered the stuffed chicken breast, which came with the same sides. We both enjoyed our meals immensely.
Service was attentive and brisk. It was quite busy, so there wasn't a ton of interaction, but that's to be expected in a packed restaurant. To their credit, one of the waitresses took the time to take a few pictures of us, which we really appreciated.
If you're in Invermere, this is a can't miss experience. It's kid-friendly, and just a wonderful time in general.
We really had a good time here. The food was very good, and the place itself is very unique with an awesome history. We sat next to the bird sanctuary, and it was a treat for my little ones.
Our service was slow, but we were there a little late, and in the aftermath of an apparently super busy night. My wife and I would have written it off as relaxed service, but the kids got restless. Birds saved the evening.
