We played Eagle Ranch in early August with three other couples. We decided the wives would play together, with husbands in the group behind. Unfortunately we were greeted with unwelcome remarks from the starter regarding our plan. The gist was basically that ladies would be too slow and hold up the men. We had to reinforce our intent two or three more times and ultimately drive up to the tee box to demonstrate we were serious. It should be noted, all eight of us are regular golfers with handicaps. Also, the men never caught up to the ladies.
As for the course, it's quite challenging without course knowledge. There are multiple blind shots where it's difficult to gauge how far to hit, or where to try and place the ball. We'd definitely play it different if we ever return, but based on the fact we all paid the same (not inexpensive) green fee, we sure didn't expect, or appreciate being stereotyped and diminished by staff.
The clubhouse is quite nice. We sat on the patio after our round for a drink before heading back to Panorama.
Really great golf course, I’m a beginner and survived without loosing too many balls. My husband absolutely smashed the course with his best score. Worth every penny. We didn’t have a chance to eat at their restaurant but from chatting with others, It sounds delicious
The scenery and course layout is fantastic. It has fantastic golf holes. It was an enjoyable round. However, if I could request a few areas to focus on.
.
The bunkers need some work. They're thin (on sand) and barely have sand in the. (okay for fairway bunkers, bad for green side)
.
The greens were also a little slow for my liking. They were receptive, but green speed was a little inconsistent. (we played later in the day)
We had a late check in, after hours, and the staff was very helpful in accommodating or needs for getting into our room. The room and location was more than expected so we decided to stay an extra day. The golf course was an amazing experience with the condition of the course to the amazing mountain views. Then there was the food, it will cost more than usual but it is worth it. It is restaurant food with a home cooked feel, it was so good. You have to try the Eggs Benny!!
Stayed for 1 night... Beautiful location and the room was modern, clean and had great amenities (loved the Rocky mountain soap collection!) beds were very comfortable and the linens were very soft and high quality. Only wish that the rooms could accommodate long sized beds... The fire pits by the rooms were lovely and the blankets from the room were a great addition! Kids loved the giant swing as well! Great view from all the rooms. Will return soon.
