The Old Salzburg Restaurant

Delicious 😋. Arrived into Radium Hot Springs in the evening after a long day of driving. Service was great, food was so tasty! Just what we needed.

I love eating at the Old Salzburg.

First off, the portions are great. Unlike other places, where you order an appetizer and recieve barely enough for one person, at Old Salzburg you can actually share your appetizer. We ordered the baked brie, and it came in four big wedges, crispy on the outside and soft and melty in the middle. It also came with it's own side salad.

For mains, we both ordered the Jagerschnitzel, breaded pork with ham and bacon. Sides included red cabbage, veggies, and choice of crispy roast potatoes, mixed wild rice, or fries. I opted to get extra cabbage instead of fries. The red cabbage was rich and homey, a little bit sweet and slightly creamy. Fantastic. The Jagerschnitzel was flavorful, with a nice balance of richness offset by the cranberry sauce. The veggies were plain, but cooked perfectly.

For dessert, we shared a cheesecake and had chocolate, cherries and amaretto on top. It was rich, sweet, and paired well with all the toppings. I really recommend it as a dessert.

Old Salzburg is a great place for good eats. Definitely stop by here if you're in the area.

It has been 7 years since we have eaten here and we were hoping it was the same. We were wrong. While the atmosphere and service were as great as we remembered, the food was even better!

We went in for lunch and started with the French Onion Soup. It was piping hot and super cheesy and filled with onion. It was delicious and peppery. We then had the Jagerspatzle. Deliciously creamy and full of herbs and bacon. The seemly home made spatzle itself was spectacular. Perfectly done. Our son had the kids chicken finger and fries. To our surprise it arrived with a few veggies and purple cabbage. The cabbage was amazing and sweet and those fries…so incredibly crispy. He ate it all!

If you are ever near or in Radium you’ve gotta eat here!

We enjoyed the food immensely. I'm not a fan of noisy places. This place was hard for me to hear my wife. Service was friendly but our server lost track of us a few times. We were in the mood for dessert but list interest after waiting too long

Amazing beer on tap! Great food and very cozy atmosphere.
Place was busy but food came out quickly. Schnitzels were super delicious!
