“What a beautiful Sandy Beach! Perfect for a picnic event or gathering of any kind. Lots of lawn space as well for sports. Many places for nets, hammocks, tables and chairs. Dog friendly area of the beach is in the tip, so amazing and big space for many dogs to run around off leash. My dog loves it and can't wait to come back!”

“Great park for small kids which includes baby seats on two of the four swings. And a lovely setting for sitting with large grassy area for ball ect.. The upper area is a great little place to explore with preschoolers ( lots of neat bushes and trees) and stairs for counting at the end if the short walk. ????”

“This small park offers refreshing views of English Bay and the North Shore Mountains. A large cherry tree frames the views, and flower beds overflow with colour and texture in the spring and summer. A steep stairway leads to the cool, fresh air of the rocky beach below. This park is named for Jean Beaty whose home originally was sited here. In the mid 1990s, Mrs. Beaty decided to sell her home to the Park Board for considerably below market value to allow the Park Board to open up waterfront views and provide park access along Point Grey Road. The development of parks along Point Grey Road has long been a Park Board vision but rising land values had made this goal more difficult to accomplish.”

“Great park for summer kids parties.”

“Stopped there because we could hear some kind of bird call coming from a tree there. It turned out to be a bald eagle majestically perched on top. In the distance a regatta was under way and the North Shore mountains in the background. Beautiful spot to sit and relax!”

“It is a park made from a property along the waterfront. All of these palaces should have been expropriated 50 years ago. The kleptos of past generations squandered this opportunity for their own personal gain. It is one of the greatest fumbles in civic history.”

“Cutest and most cpmforting little spot for some quiet. Sit in silence and you can hear the watwr softly lapping up against the shores”

“Another one of these little parks that used to be a home awhile ago. There is no beach access at this place. A lovely stone wall remains on this former residential lot, enclosing the small park without blocking the amazing views to English Bay and beyond.”

“What can I say? Great place to get away 2 min away from street !”

“One of my favorite places in Kitsilano. Park and beach front, what else can you ask for. I like to sit on the benches by the Maritime museum and watch the small ferry boats come in and drop people off. You can see Vancouver's beach on the east end . Very relaxing! People watch while sitting as they walk, jog, ride a bike, fly kites, and see the people with the para-sails try to take lift. The para-sails only go a few feet of the ground but they are fun to watch. Amazing area!”

“Home of the Vancouver Maritime Museum, Hadden Park is filled with fascinating bits of Vancouver history, with historic vessels often docking in harbour. The sparkling waters of English Bay are a popular attraction at most times of the year. This park includes a dogs off-leash area with water front access. It should not be an off lease area. It is not fair to anyone that wants to enjoy the beach. Englishman Harvey Hadden purchased this site in 1928 from the Canadian Pacific Railway for the sum of $44,000, a tremendous amount of money at the time. He is quoted as saying, "Vancouver's been good to me and now it's time I was good to Vancouver." Hadden then turned around and donated the waterfront property to the Park Board and gave them an additional $5000 to develop the area. He envisioned a bathing beach, especially for use by women and children. The Maritime Museum opened on June 11, 1959 and it most famous component, the St. Roch Historic Site, a retired RCMP vessel, was officially opened on June 23, 1966. A totem pole to commemorate British Columbia's Centennial was erected on October 15, 1958 standing 100 feet tall and carved by Kwakiutl Chief Mungo Martin from a 600 year old cedar tree.”

“I'd you are in a down mood and want to watch dogs have uninhibited joy or of course if you have a dog, go to this beach. These pets love it and the people are always happy there. Seriously a great place to just chill and get away from the mad world for a bit.”
