“For EXPO 1986, GRACE McCARTHY, the Minister of Transportation at the time, contacted all multicultural immigrants in Vancouver, to construct park-like gardens along the new Sky Train route. The idea was that each community "adopt" a garden and take care of it in cooperation with the local parks board. At this location, the German community built this plaza to celebrate the German heritage in Vancouver. On the monument is many sponsors or organizations. The Germans call this Deutscher Platz and there is a City of Vancouver street sign to show this. It is a nice place to sit and relax.”

“Much more natural then many city parks. I always say it is the hidden oasis in the city. Atmosphere somewhat like Stanley park but smaller and without all the people and touristy stuff.”

“Renfrew Park is a hub of activity, boasting many recreational opportunities. Choose to visit the library or community centre, play softball, or walk the winding paths along Still Creek, a part of the park that is surprisingly secluded and peaceful for such a busy area.”

“It's fairly new small dog park that has dogs visiting most part of the day. So, if you take your dog there, it won't be lonely. It's clean because most of the owners can easily notice (it's a small park) and clean up after their dog when their dogs go to the toilet. Most dogs and owners are friendly. The dogs can have a good time, and the owners can have a stress less morning chatting with other owners. There is a community centre just 3 mins walk away if you need to use the washroom yourselves. :)”
