“Teeny tiny postage stamp of a 'park'. This is essentially just a little, fenced in kids' playground with a bench. Reasonably well maintained and clean. Hardly a destination, but if you live in the area and have small kids I could see how it would be convenient. The space is really too small to run a dog, however.”

Ron McLean Park

“Very good park for small kids with some play activities. Nice for a walk around. Has ample parking around the park in the lanes. The park is on slope so if you are walking down be careful with kids. It's round the corner on Griffiths drive. Has a base ball ground next to it.”

“This is a beautiful park. Lots of space if you want privacy. Very open l found it clean. But need garbage emptied more often and fresh paint wouldn't hurt. Will definitely go back. Great place for moms and small kids. We need more of these parks. Lest we get swallowed up by the cement jungle.”

Cumberland Park

“We spent a week here during COVID-19. Everything was clean: the sites, indoor pool/hot tub (including the pool toilets), playground (and area), the washrooms (flush toilets and hot showers), and laundry room. The only downside is the active trains (both CP and city). But, would definitely stay here again!”

Sumas Park

Address: 2088 Kensington Ave, Burnaby, BC V5B, Canada

Park

“In 2003-2012 I have lived beside this park. Sadly I didn't have many good experiences here. Other than personal traumatic experiences from other kids, I will give an unbiased review. The park itself is a little hidden gem. The field is perfect for sports and the playground is good for children. The problem is that the water fountain is dirty and there are no washrooms. There is a small cul-de-sac beside the playground where you can ride your bike. The path is now gravel so you can also ride there. I too a visit yesterday and was saddened that they removed half of the playground including their renowned see saw and their mini excavators. There are even graffiti on the slides. With a little supervision and surveillance, this park will be a much better place for the children as well as everybody else.”

Alta Vista Reservoir Park

Address: 5192 McKee St, Burnaby, BC V5J, Canada

Park

“The redevelopment of this small park is now geared toward younger children. Gone was the swingset and larger slide. Now there is a slide and climbing structure for kids aged 6 and under, a sandbox with a water feature that is active during the warmer months (along with the drinking fountain). The two tier merry go round will keep kids of all ages busy, and the public lending library box is a nice touch.”

Willingdon Heights Park

Address: 1491 Carleton Ave, Burnaby, BC V5C 4V5, Canada

“They have a pool which allows up to 12 people at one time. They have a great kids park for all age levels. They have a small zipline which is super cool. There are hand sanitation stations positioned around the park and pool for hand washing. Great for the kid. Wish I knew about this place before.”
