“This Gallery regularly pleases and is always worth a visit. It's not large, but the eclectic exhibitions are usually worth a visit. Don't forget to check the yard. Even in the nighttime the outside is neat. These 2 exhibitions are by 3 artists. Sheila Spence and Gilles Hebert have an exhibition Back to Paradise. Both artists have displayed a series of items and images that conjure up memories of pleasant times and fun places. Spence's photographs of family outings, mostly at Grand Beach, are both nostalgic and evocative of family get togethers. Hebert's collection of collections of found memories is like looking at myriad time capsules of not only people but cultures as well. There are some oddities, check out the rocking chair off to the side. Freya Perron is an artist working in textiles. Here she is using the soft textures of woolly like things to create the shapes more usually associated with rocks and other hard objects. In addition, the works are all mounted and framed in exquisite fashion, the framer even gets a nod at the entrance. It is interesting that at first they don't seem like much, but you quickly realize that they are very attractive and pleasing. (Possibly this is a result of my background since there is a strong resemblance to Star Trek tribbles) Almost with a sense of chamber music, they would provide a pleasant atmosphere to any setting. It's not a large Gallery, but it is always worth visiting if you're in the area, and very often worth the effort even if you are not. Bus service is very good, so you don't need to worry about parking. There are several good restaurants within walking distance, especially Chaise Lounge just down the street.”

“I think evening is the best time to visit because of illumination. But be prepared for extra crowds and waiting in line to ride down the hill.”

“The kids love this place. But I think the price is a little high, and you can only drive by to see the lights. The only place that you can park and go down is a small area where you could Ice skate for free (bring your own equipment) and they also offer free sled ride.”

“We had fun snowshoeing as it was only the two of us. We went when it was - 23 with the windchill making it closer to - 34. We got to look around the museum itself as well and learned a few things about Manitoba.”

“Visited with my daughter and her classmates on a school field trip. The staff there are extremely friendly and fun. We have gone back since to walk the trails. It is a great piece of nature right in the middle of the city. If you enjoy nature and walks in the park I strongly recommend you check this place out”

“I love that mint so much. From outside, you can see the special building. At ground floor, you can see the collection of value coin, some questions about coins, try to lift up the same bar size of different material to experience their weight and a lot more. Second floor is the place you can see whole coin printed process. Tour guide is fun and friendly, ticket is very cheap (CAD8).”

“The Pavilion at Assiniboine park is an excellent art gallery with three floors of exhibitions of both local and internationally acclaimed artists. At the moment there is a small exhibition about inspiration to Winnie the Pooh as well as several local talents. All are well worth at least an hour or so of your time.”

“We visited with 3 adults and 2 boys age 9 and 14. There were some great informative display boards in front to read that gave us some of the history of Riel's life. We added a guided tour on to our visit which really increased our understanding of the site far beyond what we would have got ourselves. The young people working were friendly and informative. The bathrooms were nice and clean.”
