However, the trail does lose a star due to the overgrown vegetation, which can sometimes make navigation a bit challenging. Some maintenance work to keep the trail clear would definitely enhance the hiking experience.

In conclusion, despite some room for improvement, McGillivray Falls hiking trail remains a great spot for nature enthusiasts and those seeking an invigorating outdoor adventure. It's worth the journey, especially during the cooler seasons.

Wow! This hike was absolutely stunning. The plant diversity is beautiful. I took the long loop and completed it in about 1.5 hours. The long loop is much quieter, denser, and more diverse than the short loop once it breaks off of the main trail. The terrain along the entire trail is very steep, rocky, and muddy. I am a fairly active person and would give the terrain difficulty a 3.5/5. Do the long loop, the challenge is worth it!

Beautiful trail, quite easy, can be muddy depending on weather. Takes approximately 2 hours based on a novice skill level. Easy to navigate and able to take the small loop with children.
