“I stopped here on while on the Ride the Erie Canal Bike Tour. Very interesting lock to visit. You can still see the marks in the iron railings from the tow ropes. Amazing to see what was built with 1820's technology and it still works today.”

“We did the Niagara Zipper and Lockport cave tour. It was a nice experience. The zipper takes about 5 minutes to run but is a beautiful view and relaxing ride. The cave tour was hosted by Ben. He was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The cave is beautiful. Be sure to wear waterproof shoes and prepare to get a little wet. Overall it was a nice day in Lockport. We would like to come back soon to kayak in the canal.”

“Love going to the apple blossom and apple harvest festival. Reenactments are fun. The chowder they sell is to die for!! Usually needs some salt and pepper but I can't get enough of it. The lady Emily that runs the loom is like a historical fact sheet about lockport felt mill of Newfane. All the historical things here are amazing. I look forward to going every year.”

“Okay. Maybe most won't give this little museum 5 stars. Just understand that it's pretty small and run by dedicated volunteers. There is a cool history of Prussian Germans seeking religious freedom. They have some authentic artifacts. If you really like to see a small museum such as this one, call ahead. They may be able to let you see it on any day as long as you give them enough notice.”

“It's kind of a strange way getting there, it's in the back of a gift shop. The wax figures aren't that amazing and the place seems kind of dated. But it does give you lots of great information about the falls. The haunted well in there is pretty interesting”

“Such an amazingly beautiful place to watch the sunset.”

“If you are going to Niagara Falls for the weekend I suggest a day trip to this fort. It has an amazing museum before you go to the fort. You can learn about its founding all the way up till today. It has a movie you can watch every half hour which was very informative. Then the fort itself is something to see. Inside they have everything set up as it would have been back in the day and it is truly a fun experience.”
Address: 102 Morrow Plaza, Youngstown, NY 14174, USA
“The director of the Fort must be some sort of grandmaster for understanding how to make history come alive for the whole family. Between the daily presentations and the special occasions, the period costumes, the friendly and responsive *teaching* staff--these aren't just surly reenactment clods collecting a paycheck running around in costumes; these are teachers who are acting out object lessons with panache and joy--the experience is fun, thorough, educational, interesting, and most importantly, you'll want to do it again. Plus, you can defend America from Canada.”
