“The museum is just great! Very well maintained. I suggest a visit to everyone not just kids. It’s small but full of things to explore. I visited it during the 100th-year celebration of Gus the Tortoise. He’s soooo cute! I loved to see him. The staff of the museum is amazing, very friendly and they take really good care of Gus and everything else. The old buddy deserves all the love!”

Point Pleasant Battery

Address: South End, Halifax, NS B3H 1A1, Canada

Museum

“Another of the batteries at Point Pleasant Park, designed for defense of the city, with great views of the harbour mouth. When I was a kid we could walk around the battery and loved it, but unfortunately it has been fenced off for safety reasons. Hopefully someday it will receive some maintenance so people can look more closely at this example of our country's military history. Several other great sites at Point Pleasant Park.”

Northwest Arm Battery

Address: South End, Halifax, NS B3H 1A1, Canada

Museum

“One of the old batteries at beautiful Point Pleasant Park. There are benches on the site and a great view of the mouth of Halifax Harbour. Has a few canons to give it the mood, though there are no visible remains of the battery.”

Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21

Address: 1055 Marginal Rd, Halifax, NS B3H 4P7, Canada

Museum

“The stories presented in the museum were very interesting and educational. As an immigrant myself, I felt very moved by them. I recommend this museum to everyone. If you are interested in understanding the experience of immigrants and the many reasons they choose to leave their countries, this place will be eye opening. It's also a great way to learn about some of the history of Halifax and Canada.”
