“The lighthouse is in a nice small Harbour. I suggest going around sunset for nice light. It is not worth driving miles out of your way for. If you are passing by, it is worth the time, otherwise, skip it.”

“Nice wines in an out of the way place. We were pleasantly surprised at some of the wines. Favorite is the red Mosaic took 3 home for us and 1 for a friend. Staff is young and understands their product giving great customer experience. It is far from the cluster of wine makers in the Annapolis valley but worth the detour.”

“I'm unsure of where I can begin. If you are going to Nova Scotia you MUST visit Shelbourne and make the drive to the Black Loyalist Heritage Society, it is full of information and history that will make you uncomfortable and is missed in our school textbooks. However needed to fully understand the history and be able to educate younger generations. The artifacts and flow of the museum is amazing. Hailey who was our introduction person was amazing and explained everything we needed to know in depth, she took us to the school house and showed us to the Pit house. While directing us to the church house, we had the pleasure of meeting the Executive Director Andrea who was an absolute pleasure to meet. You can tell by the passion in Andrea's eyes and knowledgeable conversation she is right where she belongs. She has some big plans for the Black Loyalist Heritage Society and was so informative. 10/10 I recommend this as a place to put on your list of things to do.”

“Beautiful park with kayak access right to the harbor and a rail trail for biking going right through. Downtown Shelburne is easy to bike to and explore. We had a tent site on the water but unfortunately had a noisy RV right next to use that was perhaps too big for that spot. The sites away from the water seem to be larger and more spread out. All reservations are online or over the phone. The office isn't manned and only maintenance people are on site. The people booking over the phone don't know the sites and we witnessed a couple who were put into sites they couldn't fit in and had to call back. The "campground hosts" were very nice but I wish they had meet and greet camp fires like some other parks I've been to. Overall had a great time and would definitely return.”

“We’ve been here multiple times and always come back! Seems like we see stuff that we hadn’t seen in times before. The staff are super friendly and informative and they have an awesome gift shop with lots of neat period trinkets. Make sure to ask about the window glass in the shop. We heard a really neat story on that!”

“A must-see in the Eastern Shore. This community-leaded lighthouse is a true gem for visiting. We fell in love with the attention, the story about how the local community restored the buildings, the diaries of old lighthouse's keepers, the displays with information of this and other lighthouses, in sum: a wonderful experience. And if you like beaches, there is a trail (also maintained by the community) that conducts to a great beach!! What more do you want to desire for a single place?? Important: The community requests an entrance fee of $5 per person or $15 as a family for the whole season. This is a really few for all the information, emotions, and care that you will receive. Then. If you are a grateful person, don't miss to buy some of the amazing souvenirs made by local artisans; another way of expressing gratitude to all the people behind this cultural heritage.”

“A lovely beach along the Northumberland stright. A piping plover nesting site, there's plenty of information. But they ask not to walk too high up on the beach in the dry sand during nesting season.”

Looking forward to sampling them over the coming weeks while in Nova Scotia. Hoping they last till we get back home to Ontario. Fyi I follow you on Twitter and wish you all the best of success across Canada. Thank you for coming to Canada and giving us your gift of love and peace.”

“John and Chandra are fantastic hosts and guides. While my wife and I had both fished before, neither of us had ever tackled anything nearly as ambitious as Giant Bluefin Tuna. Our day on the boat was an amazing adventure. Chandra was wonderful instructor on the fine art of fighting an 800 lb fish for an hour. And John put us on fish all day and was exceptional driving the boat to help land the catch. The hospitality was A+, Chandra's food was great and the beer was ice cold. Couldn't ask for a better day - thrilling and exhausting. Highly recommend.”

“My husband contacted Nancy (the owner and primary tour guide) to arrange to join her beer tour for my birthday. We had seen her beautiful tour bus on the waterfront of Lunenburg on a visit last year, but unfortunately due to covid hadn't had the opportunity to take a tour. Well! I have to honestly say, I have taken tours around the world - Paris, Germany, New Zealand and more. This topped them all, hands down. Nancy made this tour a fully customized, once in a lifetime experience. I understand that things don't always happen this way, but on this occasion it was just myself and my husband for this tour. Nancy really went above and beyond! When we stepped on the bus she played a birthday bash song and we found the bus was decorated with birthday decor and banners. We were taken around Lunenburg and it's neighbouring suburbs for fabulous views at sunset, photo ops, beer and all this accompanied by a tour/storytelling customized to our interests. On our last stop for great local cider and live music, she even had a birthday cake and candle hidden away for me! Nancy and Seaweed tours really went beyond the norm and took that step into exceptional. Nancy was engaging, friendly, knowledgeable, fun and most of all - you can tell she loves what she does. If you want to see the area, support an absolutely deserving small business and have a great time - I can't recommend this company enough!!! Thank you Nancy!!!”
