We started hiking at 5:45AM, when it was dark. Reached Lions Head at around 6:50AM. Stayed there for a couple of hours and headed back to the parking lot by 10AM.
We were expecting some bear sighting but no luck.
The trail is of moderate difficulty but very rocky. Proper footwear is recommended, although nothing too fancy. A pair of $30 hiking shoes for Walmart did a great job for us.
The last part of the trail is a lot of uphill and downhill. Be prepared to take some snacks and water.
Overall, it was a great hiking experience especially that breathtaking view at the end. Totally worth it.
You need a reservation for parking here or you can park few mins away at the arena & there is a free shuttle that just goes from there to this parking lot ! :)
The hike was awesome & the views were beautiful! Deff worth the time spend here !
Awesome service, you get even updates on your parking via texts. 4 hours is enough to make a short round trip but not all the way. Good shoes are a must, especially if it's wet outside.
The view is definitely worth the hike.
If you have the time, get a full day ticket and bring a kayak with you, you won't regret it. The path is not mountain bike able though.
You can also come a few minutes earlier and start the hike, which was nice for us.
The views of the limitless Georgian Bay are stunning. A hike best done on a clear summer day. The entire hike is under a green canopy. The lookouts get better and better till you reach the best at the Lions Head. The turquoise waters below are tempting but unreachable (at least till the Lions Head). The "keyhole" at the Head is mesmerizing. Make sure you book the parking a few days in advance and wear good grippy shoes as half the time you will be stepping on rocks and roots.
Great hike with nice view point all along the way. Try to find one the of less busy virw point before, as the main one was crowded a bit.
The difficulty is moderate on All Trails and there are a lot of rocks you have to go through. Wear good shoes.
