“This place was breathtaking. There was a lovely young lady, who was there feeding the birds, squirrels and chipmunks. There is quite a lot of cardinals, Blue Jays, sparrows, amongst other birds. I highly recommend this walk along the bridge you too could get lucky and see the lady with the bag of birdseed. It was unreal!”

“Very nice park on lake Ontario. Located in city of Ajax. Good view and great walking trails. Good for young children as they have play ground for kids of different age. Also splash pad for children to play in summer. They have picnic tables and you can also reserve picnic table from town and also a small community room with separate wash room which can be rented on p/h basis or for day. BBQ is also allowed and have plenty of space for family to enjoy. In summer month its little difficult to find parking. But overall good family park.”

“Quiet secluded area! Amazing for a day with the family.”
Address: Whitby, ON L1P 2A3, Canada
“Heber downs is a great place to take some friends or family for an afternoon walk in the forest. Not too far from the big city, but still secluded enough that you can't hear the hustle of traffic or the smell of industry. You do have to pay for parking, about $5 for a 1.5 to 2 hour hike - but that is about as much as most people would want to spend. Definitely try this place out if you live in the Durham Region”

“Spectacular views. Relaxing viewpoint. Don’t walk to close to the edge. The seats are safe but watch the little kids don’t get too close to the edge for their own safety.”

“I absolutely love this conservation area. There is a small trail for young children and for a quick hike and there are long trails which would take you approximately an hour or an hour and a half to hike. It is a dog friendly area, so you can bring your furry friends with you and let them explore. There are washrooms and picnic benches near the parking lot.”

“So cold! TURN THE BLEACHER HEATERS ON!!!”

“I'm a regular user during the warmer months. There are two enclosures, one for large dogs, and one for small dogs / puppies. For the most part owners that frequent the large dog enclosure are responsible and friendly, however be mindful that not every owner is responsible, and some are neophytes at visiting parks like these and just need a little help at how to monitor their dog(s) and interactions with other dogs. It's a good idea to bring water. There are several "donated" stainless steel bowls available to refill. During warm weather months there are restrooms available. Parking is paid parking, but rarely do people pay to park (I figure even the cost of a ticket outweighs the total of paid visits). Plus, I really think the Town should come up with a reasonable yearly pass for this park - say $20 - $50. It's a huge nuisance to pay every time. Bear in mind that I have heard stories of people being ticketed for having their dog(s) off leash outside of the enclosure. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the enclosures but this park is only off-leash within the formal enclosures. Even an owner with a responsive, well-behaved dog may be ticketed for off-leash - so beware.”
