“An old fashioned camp ground - no website, email, online bookings. Stayed for four nights and had a wonderful time. There are parts of the grounds that are quite rough - not pristine like a Provincial Park. If you can look past this, the campsites themselves are spacious, level, and quite private. We didn't swim in the lakes on-site - although they say they are spring fed, they had quite a bit of algae and grass, such that it just wasn't appealing to us (I don't think we saw anyone swimming the whole time we were there). We only saw 2/3 lakes on the premises and they were more "pond like." That said, there are many wonderful beaches and other worthwhile spots to visit within a reasonable day-trip drive. The privacy of the campsites is truly the appeal and we would likely come back for this. If you can look past some of the rough-around-the-edges parts, this is a wonderful spot.”

“Our family spent our first family vacation and we had such an amazing time. There is trails to explore, pool and a river to swim as well as park amenities for the kids. If any family chooses to look for a camp I would recommend this one. Owners are family own camp who are thoughtful and carrying by checking around to see if everything and everyone is doing well... our family would visit the camp again.”

“I have been going there for about 5-6 years now for an annual girls weekend and it is absolutely a beautiful place to camp. The river is amazing and the park is huge. Love going every year.”

“Spent the weekend here with friends. Lots of room for outdoor activities and a huge pavilion for eating, visiting, and playing indoor games. The river is perfect for canoeing and kayaking. There’s a volleyball sand court and trails for walking.”

“Family of 4 with two children under the age of 6. This is a great campground for families and especially kids. The sites are large with big, mature trees that provide welcome shade on hot days. Staff are attentive - when we arrived we did not have a picnic table but staff brought one within 10 minutes of us making a phone call to the office. The two things that stood out the most were: 1) Very kid-friendly. There was a fishing derby the weekend we went and every kid is pretty much guaranteed to catch at least one fish (bring your own rod/bait). Staff are super friendly with kids. There's also a beach, pool, playground and bouncy pillow. 2) Cleanliness. We've been to some nasty campgrounds. This place is the opposite. The bathrooms/showers are very clean. We would definitely go back and would recommend this place to any family.”

“Couldn't get a serviced site. Park is huge, not enough public washrooms and showers and no park store. There is only 1 trailer dump station and the sewer dump inlet is higher than ground level which makes it hard to dump your trailer without a hassle. The park is very well kept however and I always enjoy my stay here.”

“This is an amazing park, with the most amazing staff. From the moment you arrive til the moment you leave you are made feel like your part of a family. Patrick has the utmost respect and patience for all campers. He understands camping situations and handles them with the utmost professionalism. The management staff are so friendly and welcoming. The negative reviews I have read on here are those from people who clearly want to stay up late around a campfire with a large group of friends. How about thinking of others instead of yourself? Do you realize how noise travels at night in a campground? Like people who go to bed at a decent hour, maybe they have to get up and work in the morning, or have young children to tend to. The price of the park is not expensive considering you get free firewood, free showers, all amenities are free. If you cannot afford to stay at the Hilton, then find yourself a Budget Inn. Great Job Shamadon Resort!!!!”
