“The food at Kate's is terrific. We have been there a number of times and have not been disappointed yet. The Mac and Cheese last Monday was really good and full of flavour. The Monday before that we had a burger and a bowl of chili. The chili was so good...if they ever offer a chili/cheese dog, then I am in! During the summer we had dinner for 8 of us and everyone was very happy with their food. All this and a friendly staff...why wouldn't you stop in for a meal!”

“Restaurant was very clean and well kept, the service was very good and the staff were very kind and helpful! The only issue I had was the amount of people who were allowed to enter at one time. It seemed as though many people could have stayed in the car while 1 person ordered. Otherwise the amount of people did not exceed their limit, it was only a matter of a limited amount of space causing what looked like more people. I would recommend setting out another layout using the existing space and stacking tables aside to prevent the cash area to get busy with people.”

“Coneybeare's is a real old-fashioned butcher shop, not a boutique. They carry the basics at very good prices with the emphasis on quality. Nothing pre-packaged or wrapped in plastic. Steaks and chops cut thick and delicious! I buy seasonal freezer orders, cut and wrapped the way I like, and I've never been disappointed. We're lucky to have this country family business in the neighbourhood.”

“I absolutely love this place!!! Been going there for almost 40 years!!! (To the pub part). They've done some lovely restoration work and upgrades to everything!!! An historic site in Minden!!! Charming, comfortable, friendly! I heard a few real 'pearls of wisdom' there. My favorite from a local man named Harvey Macintosh (but you can call me mac). “We had the opportunity to have at this lovely restaurant two dinners in a row: First dinner: We had the two daily specials; two bolds of cream broccoli soup, one catch of the day with potatoes, and one chicken parm with fettuccine. All were amazing and very delicious! Second dinner: We had one flat iron steak with potatoes and the catch of the day with fettuccine. Again, all was very delicious and yummy! On top of all of that, the servers who took our order and handed over our take-out were very friendly. We love supporting local businesses, but we love it even more when you get a smile in return. :-)”

“One of our favourite places up North. There is a saying you're only as good as your last dinner. Well last night we had a dinner in Rhubarb restaurant, roasted goat cheese salad... it was not!!. A few sprinkles of raw goat cheese can't be called roasted. When I brought attention to this I was told it was"lightly" roasted. It is not very comforting when people can't admit that they made a mistake, instead of making the customer feel like they are unable to differentiate.”

We arranged to have main course undercooked so we could take our time with earlier courses and reheat in microwave.
