“We chanced upon this only pet friendly patio which was open on the weekend we took a trip to Muskoka. Coincidentally it was right across the road from where we stayed the night. The owners are dog lovers and we had a great chat about their pets and my 11 week old puppy. The wait staff was warm and served us well. I enjoyed the beer and the Chicken Kiev on their menu.”

“We love to stop here at the end of our trips in Algonquin Park. Superb hearty food and friendly staff, plus a beautiful property off the main street, which you can enjoy when you eat out on the spacious patio (with heat lamps for cooler days). This spot is a perfect alternative to busy Huntsville. The smoked tomato & bacon soup is off the hook, so good I ordered a second bowl instead of dessert. Can't wait to go back when we are next in the area. Support this excellent restaurant!”

“It was 9:30am when we googled ‘open restaurants now’, and it lead us to Zachary’s (after looking for some possible crown land campsites outside Dorset). The restaurant has been around for 42 years, and no wonder it has very homey feeling to it—the decor, rattan furnitures, the 70s music and that superb lake view! I can’t help but feeling nostalgic on what it was like to dine here four decades ago. The menu is simple. My hubs had toast, eggs & bacon + coffee. I had French toast and sausages + tea, the portions were not big and neither small—just perfect! We also ordered a prime rib burger to go, and it was amazing! The gentleman (owner) spends time to converse with the patrons, and the lady (owner) who cooked and served our breakfast was so sweet! It was our first time to come here and will never be the last. We will definitely coming back here in winter time. What made our experience here so special is that both my hubs and I thought that food was cooked and served WITH CARE! Thank you for the hospitality!”

“Best pub food around! We picked up a big take-out dinner for the whole family and loved everything. The highlights were the smoked ribs and the kale caesar salad. I will definitely be recommending the Cast Iron to anyone who asks. The quality of food and customer service is 10/10. Many restaurants in Muskoka offer pub food but this one does it right.”
