“We made a pit stop here on a ride today. It's a beautiful building and the staff was super friendly! We appreciated them topping us up with ice water. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to sample any of the food there because we had to bug out quick for an incoming storm. I will definitely be back though, and make it a scheduled stop on future rides. Just a bit of a suggestion, (unless I missed them) since there were a lot of cyclists there, putting in some bike racks would be helpful.”

Uxbridge Rail Trail

Address: Uxbridge, ON L9P 1C7, Canada

Park

“A very flat trail about 10 feet wide, part of The Great Trail. From Uxbridge, starting at the trestle bridge near the beer store heading east, the trail goes through many small towns. Great for mountain/fat bikes. Hiking, geocaching. In the summer bring water and bug juice. Keep your dog on a leash because sometimes trappers share the trail and the last thing you want is your furry friend in a conibear trap. If you head west from the trestle bridge you'll hit some railroad tracks, but push through and in about a kilometer you will find on the North West corner the Second Wedge. The Second Wedge is bicycle friendly dog-friendly and a great place to have high-end cold beer.”

“Love love love this forest! Although not as pretty as the York Regional Forest, it offers great walks and bike trails. I rented a FatBike from a company called Twilight Forest that delivers them to the Durham Forest and hosts events through MeetUp there sometimes too. I believe they have snow shoes too. Great service and very friendly staff. I had a great ride and truly enjoyed the forest. I would like to take some friends with me to try the FatBikes next time and try snow shoeing in the winter as well.”
