“Our experience with doctor Anastasia Dobrinski is extremely positive. The doctor is very bright, very quickly gather the necessary information, extremely knowledgeable and act very quickly and professionally when it is needed. Her recommendations and proper diagnostic and referral to specialists helped to normalize the situation for my mom, that had a serious health condition. For me the fact that the doctor is a fast thinker and great decision maker is definitely a positive thing. This is very different like a situation with many other doctors when you need to talk for hours to explain one simple thing. “I have had 3 different surgeries conducted at this hospital over the last 4 years. In all 3 cases the reception staff, nurses and doctors were very welcoming, polite, professional and effective in the conduct of their duties to prepare me for surgery , to conduct the surgery and to follow-up with me after the surgery has been completed to ensure that I healed up properly. These are really good people , they are doing their best, and I genuinely appreciate all they do for our community here and how they have helped me. I rated this as 4 stars for now, and will provide one constructive comment for improvement that would change the score to 5 stars. This is not a criticism, this is an improvement suggestion. My suggestion is for the planning and conduct of a Training Course on post surgical procedures best materials & practices in bandaging. The team does have some room for improvement in the materials that they have available to them for post surgical bandaging, and would benefit from some systematic training on how to most effectively apply these materials. Please consider this to be a well intended suggestion for improvement, and not a criticism. Equip your hospital team with some higher quality bandaging supplies, and some classroom and hands on training on how best to use these improved materials, and there will be more and more 5 star ratings in your future. Thank You.”

“I don't normally write reviews . However after the experience I had, I felt I must share. Yesterday I had day surgery at this hospital. I was nervous and scared, very upset I could not bring in a support person. From the moment I walked in, every staff member was wonderful. I'm not exaggerating, seriously every staff member I saw either was smiling or smiled when they looked at me. There ended up being an emergency, so my operation got pushed up a little. The staff was wonderful and accommodating. The nurses were great, the doctor/ surgeon, and the anesthesiologist were wonderful. Spoke to me like a person, we're kind, joked with me and laughed. I've had a few surgeries and I must say I never felt so comfortable in the operating room before. Thank you Bowmanville hospital I appreciate all that you did.”

“I hate the hospital but.. if i were to recommend a hospital, Bowmanville would be it. I came in on Saturday at 5pm, I waited an hour and 15mins to be put into a room and 10mins later I was being seen by a doctor. They gave me something for gas, after me telling them that earlier in the day I had thought I had heartburn and took gaviscon and pepto. I also told them I thought maybe I broke a rib because the pain was that severe. So they took my blood. Ordered me an ultrasound and xrays for the following day (Sunday). I found out Saturday night at 7pm that from my blood they found that I had pancreases, numbers are supposed to be at 300 mine was at 7,000. I was recommended to stay over night for observation, so they could keep me on fluids (was not aloud to drink or eat anything) and mange my pain. By 8:20pm I was in a room in emerge. I would have still been in the waiting room at Oshawa hospital. (I went once after surgery bleeding with stitches coming out and had to wait 5hrs to be put in a room another 3hrs for a doctor. Told me to go home and wait to see my surgeon. What a joke.) Yesterday (Monday) I found out that I have pneumonia on top of it all. So ive been put into a room, I’m in isolation but at least I’m alone???? From the moment I got here I felt comfortable and safe. The staff are so super nice, they are patient, kind and funny. I can only eat clear fluids right now and chicken broth is the only broth I can eat. (Beef is horrible.) When I told The nurse that I would prefer chicken she wrote it down and when they still gave me beef, she went down to the cafeteria and got me some chicken broth. This is the hospital I would go to if you wanted to be taken seriously. Such nice staff and it’s clean!”
