“Just got into birding and from the first time I stepped my foot in the store the customer service has been outstanding. My first time in Pickering's Urban Nature store I only had questions and told staff that and they were more than helpful with answers and suggestions. Based on their previous suggestions I purchased product months later, online during the virus stores shutdown. After placing my online order I had called with few questions and even as busy as they were Montana was just great as she took the time to answer and did what she said she would with my order. Finally enjoying my new hobby I left my binoculars of old out in the rain, finished. I went to purchase a new pair at Urban Nature because of my past two great customer service dealings with them and again, customer service was outstanding. Jane went way above what should be expected as she made sure I got the right binoculars and that meant going outside with me on Kingston Rd 5-6 times trying different brands, sizes and she finally got me zeroed in on the ones that I’ve been using since I got home. I’ve had two eye surgeries so perhaps that made it more difficult than usual for someone buying binoculars but Jane made sure I was going to be enjoying my new hobby which I’m certainly doing with crystal clear clarity. Thank you Jane and all Urban Nature staff, your great customer service is greatly appreciated by my myself and many others, that's for sure....CHEERS”

Over the past few years I've only been there in a pinch and will frequently make a further drive to go elsewhere. The service gets substantially less friendly and welcoming as the years go on. I would generally prefer to pay a few extra dollars for items to support a local business vs a big box store, however I have found the cost of accessories to be incredibly higher”

“My first visit there but absolutely not my last. I will become a regular after switching from my usual Bowmanville place where the owners can be a little off hand. . I found Rob to be an excellent wealth of knowledge and appreciated his dry sense of humour.. His advice on feeding birds and wildlife made perfect sense, he was conscious of my not wanting to overspend. I left with a hatchback full of supplies which I cannot wait to use. Fantastic place with lots of good gift ideas too and prices for every budget. Highly highly recommend.”

“Pretty good selection of live stock and huge selection of accessories. Prices are at a premium for everything but it is a specialty store so its expected. There aren't very many other options for aquarium needs anymore. The bad about this location is the staff are always grouped together and do not proactively help anyone. I saw them sell you 20 fish at once to someone, which is strongly not recommended all at once. The fish tank often have dead fish that need to be removed. The warranty for livestock is pretty useless.. they give you only 50% of the purchase price on credit for dead fish, so you have to waste your time and money if a fish dies.. just something to be aware of. That being said, I haven't had a dead fish from them in a while, mainly because I choose the fish I'm buying.”
