“One of our favorite places to camp or even just stay on the beach for a day. Beaches # 3 & #4 are definitely worth the extra few minutes walk from parking - the sand and clean water are just amazing! If You are lucky enough to find them - there a few large boulders about 200m swim away from shore that are nearly sticking out of the water - had a lot of fun jumping into the water off of them last time I was there.”

“All-electric campground in Awenda Provincial Park. Clean facilities, large shaded sites, not radio-free, but generally quiet and peaceful. Good access to the Bluff trail, nice experience overall. We camped for two weeks, many people stayed a much shorter time. Recommended.”

“Great campsite. Very spacious lots. Lots of privacy. There is a lot of tree canopy cover, so it can get a little chilly. Access to lake is via car, but lots of hiking trails. Would recommend bringing a bike. The f Washrooms and showers are very clean and well maintained.”

“Awenda provincial park this year marks our second visit to the site, other than the fact with the first day rain both times, my friends and I all have some quality time over there. The reason we like this place is the amount of trees are nice and the density of site will provide us with enough privacy, star gazing is also amazing at the lake during the night, 10/10 place for camping:).”

“Very well maintained. Beautiful campground, some good sites up for grabs if you reserve ahead. Be prepared for a commute to the beach and pretty much everywhere else. Only star lost was due to weather and that's not even fair to the park.”

“This place is beautiful! The owners are so nice and the cottages are well-organized. They provide almost everything to have the best stay possible (a variety of bikes, fire pits, outdoor chairs, barbecue, kayaks) We came here on my daughter's birthday and she had an amazing time! You will have a fantastic view of lake Simcoe. It was time well spent.”

“Haven't been there for years, but back then it was a great spot. I think the same owners are still running it if that helps? Back in the day the grounds were always well kept and clean . No garbage laying around. It's very Family orientated and that hasn't changed from what I see of the clientele. They've added privacy fencing and it does have a nice pool!! It's definatly worth looking into ...Deano”

“We spent the season in 2017 in a tent trailer, Thanks to some very kind friends. We have two smallish children and a boat, for us the place is perfect. It does its best with activities with bands on long weekends and things to keep the kids busy. Washrooms and grounds are kept clean. Beautiful beach and boat docks. Friendly welcoming staff and campers. It has lots close by if you need shopping a walk to groceries or short drive to everything. Loved it so much we bought a park model and will be returning. Thanks for making our summers awesome.”

“My husband, best friend and I stayed here on the August long weekend for my birthday. We ended up booking last minute, and the owner Steve was so accommodating. He took us to the site, got us set up with hydro, ice and firewood. The campground is pretty far back off the main road, so you can't hear any traffic, which really makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. It's also only a short trip into town if you ever needed anything. Our site was beautiful- it was right on the water. The sunrise/sets were so pretty. The water is weedy, but the seasonal campers said with a boat once you get further out, its much better. We don't have a boat and so wish we did, but we didn't mind going in the water to quickly cool off! We were told the fishing is fantastic, so if you are looking for a place to camp and fish... Matchedash is your spot! There are public bathrooms and showers, rustic but clean! The sites are large and grassy, if you're sleeping in a tent no need to worry about sleeping on rocks! We also brought our german shepherd--the campground is dog friendly, they just have to be leashed. On certain nights Steve offers dinners you can purchase and have delivered to your site- pizza, lasagna, shepherd's pie etc. The seasonal campers were the nicest people :) Many of them came over to say hello and see how we liked it there. We ended up forming a few friendships with such cool people, and we truly can't wait to go camping at Matchedash next year!”

“Nirvana retreats is magical. I recently hosted a retreat, with my teaching partner Jess, without visiting the centre first. We knew the area was beautiful but were not certain about what to expect. We were blown away by our experience. The accommodations were extremely clean and comfortable, the practice space was spacious and bright, swims and walks were incredibly nourishing, and the food was out of this world. The owners of the centre were helpful at every step of the way and exuded warm and caring energy. I would not hesitate to recommend Nirvana Retreat Centre and I will definitely be back in the future.”
