Don Ritter's Karate School

My son and daughter have been students of Don’s for the last 7-8 years (both began around age 5). They have loved their experience - both technique and sparring skills with Don. My daughter likes learning defence techniques that will serve her well if facing someone bigger than she is! And my son enjoys the variety Don brings to his classes - from skills to climbing ropes, to breaking boards, to mock competitions / tournaments to learning some Japanese phrases!

Don’s passion for karate is apparent and he teaches his students with a sense of discipline, but not at the expense of being playful and making lessons fun. He is also quite attentive to everyone's ability and pace, which is important given there is typically a mix of ages and levels in each class.

I highly recommend Don’s karate school, for kids and adults alike who have a curiosity about karate / martial arts and want a program that develops a solid foundation for skills, as well as discipline and commitment.

Both of my children are so proud to have achieved their current levels - junior black belt and brown belt. Thank you, Don!

As a practical aside, I also really appreciate that when the occasional scheduling conflict arises, my kids are able to do a makeup class!
