“Great teachers who truly care about children's well-being, fun activities throughout the school each week, awesome movie nights and assemblies, summer festival is a blast, principal communication is thorough and timely, love the encouragement of kids to eat healthy and be supportive toward one another, huge field to play on, a newly installed natural playground, lots of child and parent involvement in the community, pizza is served every friday, snacks are offered throughout the day, ... I could go on and on. Love this school! I only wish it offered French immersion.”

“I am a ninth grader, I used to go here when I was in grade 4 and 5, until I moved from TDSB to DDSB, when I was there, the place felt warm and welcoming, I was at the school back when Mrs. Samadeni was there, she was so funny. She made us remember her name by saying Some-Odd-Knee. In grade 5 I had Mrs. Baggs, that teacher rlly boosted my self-discipline and self-regulation. I remember when I was in her class when a squirrel would come by the class widow named Cashew, it wud come everyday. We wud feed her through a tiny gap in the window. The squirrel eventually gave birth in the window, for the babies my class had to take care of. I have so many good memories from the place, here I am 4 years later, I still remember the school as one of my top 3 (I have now been to 7 different schools) I miss the place, not sure what it is like now, I am sure it is no different.”

“My daughter has been attending Petite Maison since she was a toddler and is heading into SK in the fall (so about 3 years now). I can't speak highly enough about the school and the staff. The care and love they show her and the other kids is outstanding. She comes home almost every day and talks excitedly about the science experiments they did, or a craft they made. She is constantly singing or saying things in French or Spanish or Greek to me. Telling me she's going to teach me a new language. Her reading has been coming along marvelously and she's able to sound out and print most words on her own. Her math skills surprise me daily. I also love the sense of independence they foster with the kids. I'm a big advocate of giving children freedom to do for themselves and they echo this at school. She pours and cuts, gets dressed on her own fully, cleans up and wipes down, the list goes on. I'm so happy I put her in and that I stuck to my guns and kept her during JK onwards. I don't think you will find this kind of dedication towards children learning anywhere else.”

“Cynda was my amazing trumpet teacher for many years! She is extremely knowledgeable on all things music and made every lesson fun! Her enthusiasm and positivity made me excited to improve in my playing! She challenges her students and pushes them to improve every week. I feel that I improved so much when I was her student and greatly appreciate all the lessons I had with her! If you are looking to take fun music lessons where you are appropriately challenged, I recommend Toronto Trumpet Studio!”

“CGNS It is a great privilege that our son was able to attend CGNS for part of preschool and kindergarten. We had recently moved back to Toronto and registered him after the gestalt feeling that this school would be the right fit for our family. Our previous day-care was play based, while it offered a safe and loving environment, we didn’t feel that they were priming him with the scholastic skills needed to succeed in grade school. CGNS was able to mend the gap with its robust, but supportive, academic curriculum strategically camouflaged in play-based activities. We are ecstatic to share that our son was accepted to our first-choice school during first rounds of admission. Our son loves his teachers. Despite being in the ‘big kid’ class he seeks out his old morning teacher to give her a hug every day, without fail. Ms. Pauline, the owner, and all the staff members are extremely accessible, helpful, and kind. Despite being a native French speaker, who shamefully doesn’t speak much French at home, I am impressed by our son’s growing French vocabulary that he acquires through the FI afternoon program. Through a balanced curriculum which includes drama, art, music, sports ball and French, the staff at CGNS are exceptional at rearing confident, resilient learners who are prepared to face the next chapter of their schooling. Thank you CGNS for making our son’s early learning years so special and memorable. Sabrina”
