“It was the perfect sanctuary in the city. A beautiful renovated home surrounded by nature and, yet, in the middle of Toronto. I loved that my room - The Murray Room - had a simple and lovely deck and my room was comfortable and clean. There is a fireplace for a cozy winter night. A lovely bathroom with bathtub. The hostess, Roberta, made me feel welcome and shared information and answered questions. The breakfast the next day was delicious and we had a nice conversation too. You can have as much privacy as you want and the neighbourhood is a beautiful place to walk around in. It truly is a peaceful gem in the city.”

“Decent place if you wanna save on hotels. I stayed in a house really close to Toronto U, which was good for me. Clean, but the buildings could really use some renovations. WARNING: I arrived late at night and it was a mess to get in my room. It is student housing and there wasn't anyone who works there on site then. I did warn them I'd arrive late but things should've been handled better on their part.”

“Tartu has been my home for the majority of my university years and it’s been great. The apartments have everything you need, including cozy private bedrooms and large kitchens where there’s plenty of space to cook with your roommates. Cleaning service of the common areas in the apartments is included in your rent which is unheard of. The location is perfect as it’s walking distance from both Spadina and St George subway station, as well as Metro for groceries. And above all, the staff is amazing - from day one I always felt that my best interest was in heart. There’s always someone to turn to whether you need something fixed in your apartment or if there’s any other concerns. And it’s probably one of the most affordable accommodations one can find in downtown Toronto these days. Would definitely recommend!”

“I really loved my time at the Ocho. Way cooler than your typical hotel. All the rooms are loft style, so high ceilings, brick walls, lots of old wood. I think it was an old factory or workshop that was converted. Makes for a very cool place to stay. On top of that everyone working there were super friendly and helpful. I like the independent owner feel of the business. It's also right in the heart of downtown. I definitely would stay again!”
