“Store is quite clean and stock with many fresh food. Variety is not as well stock as ones in Toronto, but is adequate for most food one is looking for. Price is average, but save you a trip to go Toronto or Mississauga. There is temperature check before entering which is really the only place I have seen enforcing it since start of the pandemic. Before pandemic, their hot table is always nice to have for dine in or take out. They also have a special noodle table where you can pick and choose sides for them to freshly cook for you. Another specialty they do is steam seafood. Again, pick your seafood from one of their tank and they will cook it for you. Overall, very good grocery store!”

“I’m a huge fan of this family owned Hasty Market! They have East African, middle eastern and south Asian groceries, housewares and sweets. The staff here go through a lot, dealing with crackheads, thief’s, scammers and violent customers (as I’ve witnessed in the past). But this place is still my one stop shop for all my speciality ingredients needs! Prices are fair, meats fresh, and samosas and nan bread are yummy. I will continue to go back.”

In that time I've seen it go through various upgrades and am glad to say that this store is always clean, well organized and now also features a good selection of ethnic, vegan & gluten-free foods. Produce and meats are always fresh and the staff is very friendly. I particularly enjoy seeing the owner around the store quite often, helping his staff and greeting his customers! “This is the ideal place to get fresh produce. So far, out of all the competitors for fresh produce, FreshCo is by far the freshest. The variety at the store is nice too, with their decent international food section. Employees are nice and are enjoyable to talk to, especially when going through the checkouts. “Here pretty much every day, multiple times a day. Very friendly staff and always have stocker what we need. For a small store they always seem to have what we are looking for, and I can get in and out with a full shop fairly quickly. They have the automatic tills which I despise but also manage to keep the tills staffed for guys like me who do not want to partake in extra work when buying groceries.”

Young lady at cash insisted that a day old small 3/4 full (so a really really small portion) 'penne with feta' container was marked down to a hand written $7.98, not, as was obvious to everyone else, $1.98. When i pointed out the correct price she behaved like I was trying to con her and unpleasantly answered that no, it was $7.98. That the $1.98 wasn't screaming obvious to her was really quite incredible. I left it there, obviously. Otherwise great wrap sandwich. Pretty well stocked store, as it was when I used to shop there regularly 25 years ago.”

“Any Food Basics, ever... Prices are lower than other stores, most of the times you can find everything you need. Staff is helpful, nice and smiling, even at the end of the day. Sometimes the store needs to be cleaned, sometimes you can't find what you really need (me, 2 weeks ago, looking for aloe leaf). And sometimes (2 times in 5 years, 2 different stores) you can find products that are expired, not for a day or two, but for 3-4 months.”
