“I have been waiting YEARS for Mr. Sub to open in Mount Forest. My only negatives is the hours (the other sub place is open until 11pm, Mr Sub closes at 8pm) and the parking situation which can't really be helped because it is at a gas station instead of its own building/unit. Finally, it would be beneficial to be able to order online. Otherwise, welcome to MF and so glad at least there is a better option for subs!”

“Hi folks . Listen I’ve been to the mount royal tavern both before and after with the ownership, and the new owners are a welcome change from the past (new owners started February 2020. Older reviews before this are bogus. The new owners not only have sank a bundle of $$$ into the decor, sound system and appliances( new kitchen and bar so nice and clean) but they have also gotten rid of the local trouble makers. It’s now a pleasant and nice place for all. By day a friendly family experience both inside and on the large patio . At night it more a bar with pool tables music karaoke, etc depending on the night. The best part is the food. Dan the chef has been hired out of Toronto and it really shows on the menus selection. This is not a fast food restaurant but they do carry the usuals , burgers fries, wings and salads. But the dinners , pastas, and the rest are a huge improvement and delicious . I’ve eaten all over mount forest and as far as any fine dining goes, this is the only place for me.”

“WOW! My husband and I just tried the "Beyond Meat" burger and it was amazing. If you plan on trying it, be prepared to wait about 5 minutes or so while they cook it up fresh. This wasn't a problem for us and actually seemed like a bonus. Cooked for us on the spot, instead of sitting under a lamp for who knows how long? Anyway, the staff at this location are great, the server made fresh coffee and brought our order out to the car. I would strongly urge anyone who is thinking about trying this product to do so. You will be surprised at how great it is. We're going to try the "Beyond Meat" breakfast sausage and egg soon. Just a side ... hamburger gives my husband heartburn, even though he loves it, and for what it's worth ... this sandwich didn't. That makes me happy, too, haha!”

“First time trying this new restaurant. It was a Saturday. They were extremely busy. We waited double the time quoted. Service left a lot to be desired. Food was good but nothing really unique. The space seems a bit small, they don't have that many tables and only 3 that fit more than 4 people. Patio could use a bit more shade. Bottom line, I'll try it again on hopefully a less busy day as I do think it's a great addition to the restaurants in the town.”

“Was taking a drive and noticed this place in the side of the road. Decided to grab a bite to eat. Ordered a large poutine with two bottles of water. The large was definitely shareable and hard to finish. Fries were fresh cut and the gravy was of your typical. Nothing special to be honest, but hey at least the cheese was melted good. The water was a bit on the warm side. There were only 2 picnic tables, but noticed many people ordered to go. They also only take cash, so keep that in mind.”
