Visiting Prince Edward Island National Park was an absolute gem - especially at the very beginning of October, which means solitude and silence, except for the sounds of the waves and wind.
It is just a short drive from the heart of Charlottetown and is a true coastal paradise that offers something for everyone.
One of the standout features of this park is its stunning sandy beaches. The golden sands stretch endlessly, making it the perfect spot for a day of sun and surf.
Whether you're building sandcastles, taking a leisurely stroll, or simply basking in the sun, you'll find the beaches here to be both serene and picturesque.
The sand dunes are another highlight of Prince Edward Island National Park. They are a natural wonder, rising like gentle giants along the coastline. You can hike through the park, enjoying the breathtaking vistas and the tranquil sound of the waves crashing nearby.
The boardwalks in the park provide an easy way to explore the diverse ecosystems and landscapes. They are well-maintained and offer fantastic views, making them perfect for a leisurely stroll or a more extensive hike.
After a day of walking, lounging, and playing in the sand, you'll be pleased to know that the park provides facilities for washing off the sand. It's a practical touch that ensures you can leave the beach feeling refreshed and clean.
Prince Edward Island National Park is a must-visit destination for anyone exploring PEI. With its sandy beaches, mesmerizing sand dunes, and convenient amenities, it's the perfect place to connect with nature and unwind by the sea.
Don't miss the opportunity to experience this coastal paradise for yourself!
The entire island was trip worthy. Plan to spend at least two days exploring and walking Charlottetown, the national park and visiting the beaches, red sandstone cliffs and backroads! Five days would be even better.
If you are an Anne of Green Gables fan, you'll love the Heritage Museum and enjoy a walk down lover's lane into the haunted forest!
Not to forget the glorious Basilica downtown!!! AND the amazing FOOD.
One of the most beautiful places I have ever been. If you visit PEI I would highly recommend a visit here. Bring a baithing suit because there is a nice beach at the end of the trail. It about a 20min walk to the beach from the parking lot.
PEI National Park has so much to offer. Great beaches, hiking, biking, and even a green gable. Be sure to check out the Greenwich dunes trail, Cavendish Beach, Brackley beach, and our favorite beach we visited, which was Dalvay beach. This area had several great lighthouses to see as well. This National Park is a must-see when visiting the island!
Long strip of land along the northern shore of PEI. They charge for each day. Going after 5 is free. Great spots for sunset and quintessential red sea cliffs. You can basically find a spot to be all by yourself.
