One of the most incredible trails I’ve ever seen!!! A must for anyone who visits PEI. There’s ample parking and the trails are flat which makes it an easy hike. You walk through a forest, pass over a floating dock, and end up at Greenwich beach where you’ll see all the dunes. The views are just beautiful. You could easily spend 2-3 hours doing the entire route (max 5 km total). Bikes are allowed on the gravel path leading up to the forest. It’s dog-friendly up until the beach, then they can’t be on it (from April-Oct). Also restrooms are closed!
The beauty of tranquility, and the pontoon bridge is just perfect, we can get into the beauty.
Loved visiting here and highly recommended it! The boardwalk is dog-friendly (on leash), but note that the beach once you get to the other end is not dog-friendly. It’s a lovely and walk in. About 5km in total.
One of our favourite hikes anywhere. It’s short although beware the potential mosquitoes around the bogs, before/after the boardwalk. We love going at sunset when the light is reflecting off the lagoon.
Beautiful park, easy hiking trails, views of the ocean, beautiful flowers, landscape and greenery, access to the beach, dunes, boardwalks, including a .4 mile floating boardwalk that crosses over an estuary and connects to one of the beaches.
Well maintained with good directional signage.
The parking is not free and you will not know this until you arrive at the parking lot and then you have to backtrack couple of kilometers to the Park headquarters to obtain a permit. The cost varies based on the number of occupants in the car but for the two of us seniors it was CA$14.25.
