We had never heard of potato soap and can't wait to try it. My wife bought several bars to give as gifts. It is only a little way from Cavendish so easy shopping on your vacation.”

“A gem of a place. Jean, our host, was warm and welcoming. She was able to give us lots of useful information and has many interesting stories to tell. Her place was beautiful and bright, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was included and she prepared her delicious food right in front of us, catering to a glutenfree diet as well. In addition, she packed us some food for the road and also made our dinner reservation. Our bikes were safe in her garage where we could charge the batteries. We would definitely recommend this place.”

“I’ve increased my rating on this one. It is one of the few lighthouses you can enter and go up in this area of PEI. If you climb all the way to the top it offers a good view but very small area and tricky climb so beware. The bottom floor offers a few historic summaries to read through and you can ask questions of the attendant who knows some background history. This one specifically was operational until quite recently in 2012.”

“Ben Smith - Proprietor of “Enchanted Candles”, a native Prince Edward Islander and resident of Victoria by the Sea for the past 50 years. Former Mayor of the town and a lover of history. Most of all a true artisan who makes these special candles that are unlike anything I’ve seen before (I’ll post a photograph of one in the comments). Be sure to look for it. We spent about an hour this morning talking to Ben and he told us many interesting things about the area and about his time living in this small town. It was a joy to hear his stories and we look forward to crossing paths with him again someday. This photograph is Ben sitting at his workplace in his little shop. Notice the old half-round window. It took him sometime to find exactly the type of window he was looking for and he’s quite pleased with this one. If you happen to find your way to PEI make sure you go to Victoria by the Sea and stop by his wonderful little shop. He’s located directly across the street from the lighthouse. iPhone Photography”

“Phenomenal experience each time! Welcoming staff with great energy make the visit to this fine dining restaurant even more wonderful! Food prepared to perfection and served beautifully plated! Gluten-free options are part of the full menu! Too much for one sitting so I had leftovers from both meals I enjoyed there which was terrific! Best ever!”

He was patient, gave great instructions and recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed our kayak and clam digging experience -- the chowder at the end was delicious 😋! Would highly recommend and will definitely do again on next visit to PEI. Thanks Paul for a wonderful morning on the Northumberland Straight!”

“Great location with beautiful views of the water. Our server Kim was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the two piece fish and chips; both the fish and the fries were great. The fish was fresh, not at all greasy, very tasty and the batter was just right. Other dishes ordered by our group were a Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich, eggs Benny and their their lobster roll. All dishes were very good.”

“Highly recommended. I stayed here for 2 nights with my 11 year-old, to take part in a bike race. The proprietor kindly chose a perfect —spacious and comfortable — suite for us. He also locked our bikes away at night, which we appreciated. The hotel has an unspoilt old Maritime feel, which made us feel at home, and the home-made breakfasts were excellent. Victoria is a sweet little village, just know that it gets very busy on a summer evening!”

She never sells her product, the product sells itself. Always a delightful experience.”

“Stunning and very romantic venue!!! The entire property is breath taking and there is an amazing charm with the entire village of Victoria by the Sea. Marly is absolutely incredible at what she does and we cannot thank her enough for everything she did for us. She is probably one of the sweetest people we have ever met and she really made our day so incredibly special. We originally had planned a small wedding but decided to elope during the pandemic of August 2020 instead. We had some challenges/changes thrown our way planning from NB but she helped plan, book, organize etc. throughout. We are so grateful for everything she did, as well as Karina on the day of our wedding. They helped make our entire day so memorable for us:). I highly recommend booking your special event at The Grand Victorian!!”

“I went here with my husband on our honeymoon in early October after tourist season was over. The area was so peaceful and beautiful! The Ocean view from the front window was amazing and we walked up to the cliff a few times to get some pictures. The cottage was updated, extremely clean, and although we got the smallest cabin, it seemed a lot larger than it was and the space was used well. I would definitely go back sometime, we loved it!”
