“Visited Pavillon Wapus last week. We spent 7 nights there meals included. Probably one of my greatest experiences to date. The owner and her staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, chatty, and helpful. Reserving lakes we're done easily and quickly. There were numerous logging routes that were perfect for ATV rides. There were also a few dedicated trails. The actual property was clean, well maintained, and enjoyable to be around. There was plenty of space for moving around. There is an outdoor dug in pool. Heated at 86° day and night. As for fishing, almost all the lakes are supplied with boats with new engines. If you are considering comming here i absolutely recommend you get the meals included. I have never eaten such great food ever, let alone in a lodge in the middle of the woods. Meals include breakfast, lunch, and dinner which is a 3 course meal. “A very nice place. Our group of 6 had a cabin at baie Viola. Excellent accomodations. Beautiful spot. Running water, hot and cold,, bathroom with shower. Unfortunately our trip was cut short by the forest fires and we had to vacate on our second day. The first day's fishing was good and we were expecting to have a great week. We have absolutely no complaints and we would highly recommend this outfitter. Hopefully the area does not suffer any damage from the fires of this year 2023.”

“After Jean Chretien's "1969 White Paper" and its solution to remove the Indian Problem. The Department of Health Canada erected a bungalow Rapid lake Nursing Out post in 1972 within the Community for its members and tourist from the Cabonga Lodge. In 1962 band members were once again relocated to a new Community site by the Department of Indian Affairs, Localisation of Band Members during this era was for encroachment purposes and the process of assimilation and segration. The Nursing Out-post purpose at this time was to demographicly tallythe newborns and deceased. First aid was limited to the people and solely for the purpose of providing vaccincations and telephoning the ambulance services located in Le Domaine which was 35km from the reserve or 45minutes The title of the location is what brought about the insight of my Community. It was untrievalbe by its original name. Rapid Lake Indian Reserve. Kitiganik”

“We are used to more of a grassy type campground and this is mostly rock. But that being said there is a nice bathroom with flush toilets and showers. The shower costs $2 for 10 minutes which was a first for us. The people that work in the check in/store speak very little English but we're very nice and we had fun figuring out what each other was saying. The lake is beautiful and there is a small marina just a short distance down the lake with fuel. Best advice I can give is make sure you have everything you need because it is a drive to get anything.”

“Great place, chalets are well equiped with all the basics. There's everything you need onsite - convinience store, liquor store, restaurant, etc. Fishing on the Baskatong is always fun, it offers a challenge for 1st timers but go see André at the marina and he will point you in the right direction! This was our 6th time at La pointe a David and we will return for a 7th for sure!!”
