What a fantastic experience! After a glowing recommendation from crew member Cole, we knew we couldn’t pass up the chance to see what Outer Island Excursions had to offer. Steve led us on a journey of a lifetime to see humpbacks, orcas, and plenty of stellar sea lions and harbor seals! The boat was clean, crew was pleasant (and hilarious!), and each moment was an absolute joy- even when we weren’t surrounded by whales.
We will absolutely be back!
Booked a whale watching tour with Blackfish Tours on a recent vacation to Washington. I was expecting it to be an OK part of the vacation, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of the entire week! First of all the crew was amazing! Alex and Dawn were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all the ocean life. Captain Dave was hilarious and knew exactly where to find the whales. We saw orcas, a humpback, seals, sea lions and a grey whale. If you go whale watching in Washington, book with Blackfish Tours!
Captain Drew of the Blackfish IV, was hilarious and immediately made me feel at ease. Ship was fast, and fun! Naturalist's Brooke & Dawn were amazing as well. Very knowledgeable and would fill the time waiting for the whales to finish there deep dive, by telling you about the specific whale your seeing, as well as about their species. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes whales and wants to see one in their natural habitat. Will be back, can't wait.
P.S. shout out to orca named "T-46D" for coming up right next to our boat and swimming in front! I wish I had better reaction speed to take a picture.
We saw whales. To be more precise, orcas. This is the most important proof point for a whale watching tour...
The boat was in great shape and the people were very nice and helpful. What is very remarkable: the tour is scheduled for three hours and we were more than four hours on the boat. They were so eager to get to the whales that they added extra time.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and was the highlight of my vacation. Being from Missouri and nothing like this remotely close to me, I absolutely enjoyed every moment. The scenery and wildlife were breath-taking. Captain was funny and everyone was super knowledgeable about everything we were seeing.
