Excellent customer service, smooth ride. My kids loved being on the boat - one of the highlights of the trip! I've used several boat charters in the San Juans, this one is the best.

We have ridden this water taxi and the others for our trips on and off of Blakely Island. Here are the differences we've noticed and why we have become devoted Paraclete riders now:

1. This is by far the smoothest and most quiet water taxi in the San Juans. While I have had seasickness-inducing rides with other taxis, Paraclete is always smooth. It seems like the boat is just a great design, and also the captains are committed to taking the calmest route. I'm also able to talk with my family on the boat at a whisper and still be heard. On other taxis I have come off the boat with my ears ringing from the load motor noise. I never really paid attention to the difference until our last ride off Blakely when I needed to speak with my teenager about something sensitive, and we were able to have that quiet conversation right at our table. And then it hit me: I'm on a boat! And I can talk quietly!

2. We are always traveling with a lot of gear. The Paraclete crew NEVER complains or winces about the amount of stuff we bring and is always always helpful and respectful when loading and unloading our gear. AND, our luggage and groceries stay DRY under cover. This is a big deal. No more soaked and salty luggage and flats of berries. I used to have to figure out how to protect my luggage and groceries on other taxis, but I've never had a single wet bad since we switched exclusively to Paraclete.

3. I love the protected outdoor space on the back of the boat. You can enjoy a nice trip through the San Juans in the fresh air, and it is smooth, spray free, and not reeking of fumes. It's really pleasant on the boat's outdoor decks, and we appreciate that.

4. The customer service is top in the islands. The crew and captain treat everyone kindly and like fellow humans, not just like passengers. With the stress of catching the boat (especially with the crazy traffic on the I-5 these days), loading kids and luggage and groceries, and just getting oneself organized to get to the islands, I can be quite flustered by the time I get to Skyline Marina. So, the customer service is a BIG deal to me. I can either sit on the boat feeling like I'm some sort of crazy person that really put out the captain, or I can feel like the crew and captain are glad to have us and are happy to help us get to Blakely smoothly, safely, and calmly. Paraclete is the best way to start and end my vacation in the San Juans.

For 30 years, we have chosen the Paraclete, with rare exceptions, over all other forms of transportation, to and from our Center Island home. They have hauled our family and all the STUFF that part of living on a private island, including entertaining, recreation, upkeep, remodeling, in an area that is just a step away from camping out: food and more food, kids, dogs, bicycles, kayaks, furniture, outboard motors, sewing machines, building materials, and on and on. Their service is outstanding: they help with loading and unloading with efficiency and a smile. And hey have managed over the years to be the most affordable transportation They are one of the outstanding aspects of our years enjoying the San Juan's.

Excellent service!!! My husband and I were traveling with 2 under 2 and had all the child accessories to go with the adventure. We were vacationing on an island without a grocery store or other amenities where we could just pick something up. Saying we had A LOT OF STUFF is an understatement. They were so helpful getting us on and loaded/ unloaded. They were easy to book, arrived on time for our departure and helped us along the way.

The best Sea Taxi service in the Puget Sound. A smooth ride, amazing captains, deck hands, and reservation staff make this my favorite mode of transportation. They go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service.
