Nickle Galleries

Address: 410 University Ct NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1N4, Canada

Art gallery Museum Store

“The nickel galleries always have thought provoking work that takes up the space, encouraging you to move and explore with the work. The carpet makes it so you can't hear your footsteps, which takes you into the world of the artwork. The upstairs galleries offer amazing opportunities for smaller exhibitions. I love the staircase which let's me view the work below from another perspective. It takes the standard 5 seconds which people look at art and expands it as they explore and recognize something new about it. It's free to enter, they have free lockers to hold your bags and the shop is always full of lovely work to buy.”

“I love coming to Heritage Park for the Live Nativity Pageant. I come every year with my family on Christmas Eve. This tradition really brings the Christmas spirit to my family during the holiday. We love to get all cozy on the benches with several blankets. It is cold and right by the water so it is important to dress very warm. The Nativity only lasts about 15 min and it is free! It is put on by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as a service to the community. They are not pushy with their religious views. There are provided outhouses. They have live animals that you can take your pictures with and pet as well. The event usually lasts about a week.”

A beautiful park and a great learning centre with beautiful aquariums in the basement. The staff were so nice and helpful as well. Go check it out you won’t be disappointed!”

TELUS Spark

Address: 220 St Georges Dr NE, Calgary, AB T2E 5T2, Canada

Museum

“Amazing science center with so much to do! New exhibits and special events fairly often and a great place to learn! Tons of hands on experiments and places to learn. The planetarium style theater is a must see and always fun. Might make some disorientation but there is a space to collect yourself in the theater if too bad. One problem is the food pricing... Super expensive for not too much. Bring a lunch and eat outside the cafeteria. You'll be happy you did. Or just go out for lunch or dinner after. Parking is a bit pricey at 10 dollars a car so carpool if possible. I think parking comes with a 5 dollar food voucher too. Special adult only nights as well for a great date or enjoying the science in relative peace. If you can afford it I totally recommend!”
