I was a little disappointed with this property. The “hotel” room felt more like a private hostel room. While the room was mostly clean and in decent repair, the bed was extremely I comfortable and the previous guest’s trash was still in the room.
The main function hall was nice, but has no air conditioning. This made the event extremely stifling even though it was relatively cool outside. If they are going to rent out their facility for summer functions, they need to remedy this.
The best thing was the food. The function I attended had appetizers, a buffet dinner and late night snack and all were delicious!
Service was adequate in the pub, but excellent in the function space.
We went to visit our daughter in Blairmore, and she took us for a drive all around the back roads, and we ended up at Castle Mountain Resort. Beautiful day! There was a wedding there that day, so we peeked in the banquet area. Really beautiful place, even in the summer. We didn't eat or anything, but my daughter said it's a great place to eat. Beautiful houses/ condos for people who want to live right on the mountain. Will definitely try to make it back in the winter to experience that season.
Love skiing here at Castle Mountain, one of my new favorite places. Close by home and it usually always has great snow. ❄️ Friendly people and so much fun to ski at. Challenging for sure in a great way.
Amazing staff throughout. It was quieter than usual so we didn't have to line up for tickets or rentals, but for busier times you should definitely visit the castle mountain website for tickets, and the Alpenland site for rentals. Massive thanks to Lizzy (Essex) for being so great with our 3 year old for his first ski lesson 🙏
Love the variety but not great for beginners. Even the greens on the “Huckleberry” lift are pretty steep. My 13yo (who has skied) was stuck with the green lift / bunny hill since the other greens are noticeably tougher. The bunny hill is a little too narrow (compared with Alta, Brighton, Snowbird) with the encroaching housing development.
My older teen liked Huckleberry and heading all the way to the top of the mountain even though it was stormy.
